Some guy on gametrailers said that MS sent his 360 to the REGULAR XBOX repair center on accident, and he got a regular xbox back in the mail. They then refused to reimburse him just because they claim his 360 serial ID was invalid.
Now that is just about worst case scenario.
Shenanigans! Everyone get out your brooms!
That guy is absolutely lying right through his teeth.

Dear Ambellina, watch over me...
I finally had my first red ring of death experience. I was playing Forge in Halo 3, and my 360 just froze up. Sure enough, I went to turn it on and it had the 3 lights lit up. I did the towel trick, and it works now. I'm not going to keep playing it though. I'll just end up trading it in at Gamestop while it still works, only without the HDD. Then, I'll buy a cheap Arcade 360. I've heard the newly released XBOX 360's don't have as much of a chance to get the red rings.

I did the same thing at the gamestop here, my shiznit got the RROD and I wrapped that beast in a towel and sent 'er on her way. Got 150 outta that, 15 for the HDD, and another 25 for Blockbusters GoW.
Wrap the 360 up in a couple of towels so the air vents are covered, turn it on and leave it for 15-20 minutes, unwrap it and let it cool for a few minutes and when you turn it on, it should work.

Exactly... and this procedure can be found with a quick search on YouTube, as well.

Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience!
My 360 hasn't got an RROD, but the other day I got Army of Two through as a rental and it just wouldn't boot at all. Didn't even recognise there was a disc. I panicked and tried all my other games and they were all fine, save for Fight Night and Crackdown, which had the same problem. Now I'd played Crackdown a few days before and it was fine. My discs are all in great nick so that's not the problem. I tried Fight Night a few hours later and it loaded, Crackdown still wouldn't work but I tried it again this morning and its fine.
Is my 360 dying? It sounds like it is. The mechanism is making a fair bit of noise recently. If it is on its last legs, and I send it off and they try it out and it loads games that aren't army of two, fight night and Crackdown perfectly, will I get billed? Also if I do send it off, how long is the process? ie will I have to buy GTA on PS3? :)
