Mabie because PS2s wern't 400 dollars, and that Sony actually dealt with the PS2 problems, unlike Microsoft who refuse to do anything about it, why? Because they make more money selling a system that is prone to breaking.
I had 2 PS2s, one lasted me a year and a half, my 2nd has been flawlessly working for the past 4 and a half years. But I was just simply giving him advice, because if he honestly gets frusturated with having a system that always breaks, and never being able to play it, then get a PS3. So get off my nuts. A lot of people in this forum, pretty much all in this thread has had atleast 1 360 break, yet most people continue to get more, because they like the system, they like the games and etc, but basicly everyone of them is a bit frusturated about it, some more then others.

I've had my Fat PS2 FOREVER. Plays just like the day I bought it.
My 360, a week after I buy it, breaks......due to nothing but playing it. Send it back, and YOU WOULD THINK they would send me something that works, but of course, a week after they send it back to me, it doesn't read discs anymore.
I'm sooo glad I bought a 360.

Wow... this is a pretty bold claim. Care to take a bet on this? I seem to remember hearing nightmare stories before the PS3 was released about it overheating to the point of melting the chipset. Just because a problem isn't as widespread as you might hear doesn't mean it isn't necessarily happening out there.
"A system that won't break"... that makes me laugh. Now all of a sudden, you think you are Nostradamus. All I am saying is that's a mighty bold claim.

The Xbox had serious overheating issues??? Really? That's funny, because I use my Xbox to power my USB fan to cool the back area of my 360, which sits right next to it. Out of all of the systems I have ever owned (going back to the NES days), the (first) Xbox has given me NO problems whatsoever. And FYI... the GameCube didn't "suck"... it just had no third party software support to speak of... and it's looking like the Wii might suffer the same kind of fate.

Yah, before the PS3 was released. You basicly don't hear about any overheating issues now. The fans in the PS3 act accordingly to how hot it gets and properly cools the system down. The system has an auto shutoff for whatever reason that the PS3 may get hotter then it should. It shuts off before permanent damage. Unlike the 360 it gets shut off because it has permanent damage and won't work anymore. The only case of overheating was at TGS 06 because a PS3 was put under extreme conditions into a small container with several people around it, and only 1 did this out of the many they had displayed. The PS3s in store displays stop working not because of overheating issues, but because the Store Display versions of the PS3 have an auto shut off after 15 minutes to prevent people from playing a long time, just employees are too lazy to to turn them on. Most of the "PS3 overheats like crazy and burns you house down" **** was just fanboys talking bad about the PS3. I am not saying the PS3 is completely unbreakable. On occasion electronics always have a faulty product show up here and there. If a problem does occur with the PS3, more then likely it was due to something else, other factors have to be put into play. The 360 is just poorly made and Microsoft knows it, but why do anything about it, they are making money. The 360 just has an alarming rate of faulty products. When someone buys the PS3, they won't have to worry about it breaking for a LONG time.

I wouldn't bet my last dollar on this, that's for sure... I learned my lesson the hard way with the PS1 and PS2... in my opinion, two of the most poorly designed consoles in history.
Don't mistake what I just said, people... I said the consoles were poorly designed. The games were great, there is no doubt... but the consoles were turds.

Well, anyways, after a 15 minute call, I'm sending this "repaired" console back out to McAllen Texas whenever I get another box.
I tried to tell the guy to send me an ACTUAL WORKING CONSOLE, but he just brushed it off and kept on talking about "Don't leave HDD on, etc. etc."
Huzzah! Another 2 weeks of not playing my 360! At least you get 1 free month of Xbox Live.....cause I haven't paid for any Live yet....

I was a bit vague with my statement on the Xbox. I had a overheating problem with mine, but that was when Microsoft had great customer service, so I sent it in and they sent me a brand new one, never had the problem again.
We all have different opinions on things Creep, I thought the Gamecube sucked, you didn't, so what?

You guys can argue until your blue in the face, but it doesn't do anything. As of right now the 360 appears to be a lower quality product, PS3's can break anytime as can the Wii. Its that way with every product you buy. Get over it.

360 = Breaks quite a bit
PS3 = Hardly any reports of malfunctions
Wii = Hardly any reports of malfunctions
I believe, I win.
