Xbox Live down for maintenance
Hey guys, I was just curious if anyone knows how long XBL will be down for repairs. I wasn't sure if the message they sent said 14 hours. If anyone has some info could you please let me know, I miss my Vegas. Thanks and sorry if it was asked already.

Dude, it's a one time thing....socom is down twice every week.
And they did do it early in the morning, it started at 2:15 am(central time)
And; The message said it would be down for 14 hours.

Thanks for the responses guys...I just wanted to double check. We were in a match late last night and then we all frooze up. Completely forgot about the message XBL sent. I just wish the website was up at least so you could stay in touch with your friends, but thanks again for clearing it up for me.

I have no idea NUN.... I just hope its back up by tonight. I don't understand the website part though.... I mean what could be upgrading on the site. I know its connected to XBL, but still, it leaves no communication with your friends unless you have them on aol aim or something.

It's people you know over a game, anything that needs to be said can wait a while, it can't that important.

E Writer pwns so much, he's pwntacular.
I've been wondering what exactly could be so big that would call for XBL to be offline for 14hrs (which equates to roughly $.07 of your annual subscription BTW)?
Configuring and installing new servers could do it. Although I would presume that they would configure these in a test environment before putting them out into production like this.
Perhaps it's to upgrade the XBL service to accomodate the still-rumored 360 Elite that will support IPTV?
It's got to be pretty substantial, whatever it is. The fact that they really didn't disclose any details of the reason makes me curious.

But yeah, whatever it is has to be huge. I was thinking maybe it could be a dashboard makeover, like change some **** around, add some things, and whatnot...
