The XBOX 360 has nothing like this as far as I know...
On the 360, you can make/join chats and **** like that(basically the same thing as this, but this has extensive features, and you have to be in this "home" to chat, unlike 360 where you can chat to anyone - anywhere no matter what you're doing), but doesn't have said "features" like this is supposedly going to have. In my eyes, having a virtual "home" where you can dress a character or w/e it is isn't really relevant to anything. The only reason I see them doing this is is to make it seem "cool" and better than the 360's chat feature.

Now, let me say; I am in no way bashing Sony or the PS3, I am still a fan of Sony, and I will be getting a PS3 sooner or later. So Tequila, don't come in here and jump on my nuts because of my comments like you did last time.

I have Both systems, and love both Systems. I'm just a little dissapointed with Sony's Behaviour. This idea that Sony has for " Home " will more than likely make the 360 do uprgrades and interesting add-ons. Bring it On.
This Holiday Season ( Though Long Off ) will be the best yet as far as Games and Consoles.

That's how I should've titled the other thread anyway. This thread is better.

I too welcome the competition. It's only then that the consumer really gets their money's worth. A friend of mine was telling me Wii has something similar to Home too already, though I am positive it's nowhere near the quality level that Home will be. I am diggin' the idea of streaming video and stuff like that.

E. Writer... you basically said in your post above:
Home is like XBOX's chat feature, but Home has more features, but the features are irrelevant and Sony is just doing it to seem cool?

That is just about as fanboy as it could get! The features make it different and unique compared to XBOX's chat feature... how do 10x more features compared to chatting anywhere "seem" cool? It IS cool! More power to XBOX to get something like this going as well though.

NUN, I'm going to close that other thread to avoid confusion and double posts on similar topics. Merging would be too confusing...

I was thinking it was pretty great at first, but then I saw them jump into a game, and just saw the simplicity of some little characters jumping on a burlap sack, and suddenly wanted a PS3. I got overtly excited and jittery, exclaiming that I wanted a PS3 now. (mind control I tell you!)

How will displaying a movie on your TV work though? Will everybody be able to view the movie playing? Will there be any legality consequences to that?

The timing is still not right for me, personally, to legitimize the purchase of Sony's $600 beast.

Their ideas sound like good ones, but that's still too much money for me to spend. I want instant satisfaction... I'd hate myself for letting that system collect dust waiting for MGS4 to come out in another seven or eight months.

I need a larger number of jaw dropping games to be released on their console before I even think of dropping that kind of dough on a gaming console.

Actually, if you bought a PS3 when Home was released (Fall), you wouldn't have to wait long at all (unless MGS gets delayed).

I just love correcting people, it makes me feel good.

I've just recently heard that there's a chance MGS4 could be "delayed" until early 2008. To be honest, I'd rather see them take their time rather than get a non-completed game... even though a half completed MGS4 would be better than 80% of the other games out there on the market.
