Firstly I'll avoid the obvious, and cut right to the chase:
Forum rules proclaim that sign
ature images be restricted in size to 500 pixels wide and 150 pixels tall, or less.
To add an image to your signature, you first must have said image housed online. Custom images can be hosted at sites like
ImageShack® - Hosting free of charge.
Once your image is online, you'll need the URL to that image. With that in hand, visit the
User Control Panel.
On the left side of the page is the navigation menu, in which you'll find a link cleverly labled as "Edit Signature". Click it.
On that page, there's a preview of your current signature, and below that is the panel in which to edit your signature.
In that portion, to insert your image, click the icon that looks like a picture of two mountains (or the rather pointy breasts of a gray woman) on a yellow background. A small dialog will display, prompting you for the URL of your image. Insert that and click "OK".
Then on the edit signature page, click the button labled "Save Signature".
Lastly give yourself a good pat on the back for adding an image to your signature, a feat that is unreachable by small children and
some indigenous tribes of southern Africa.
Now, I see you're an XBox 360 owner and subscriber of the great Xbox Live service. I commend you on that. You may be asking yourself how to get one of these snazzy gamertag signatures that you see bringing down the real estate value of our beloved green forums.
Fear not good man, for those are just a notch above on the difficulty level.
For that particular need, I'll direct you to the services of
Mygamercard.net, a fabulous and noob-friendly service. For the more advanced ranks try
LiveCard.net, who offer users questionable reliability with the tools to design the most customizable gamertag signature possible.
Good luck, best regards, and welcome to VGF.
Remember, 500 x 150 max.
