My neighbor is offering me the playstation 3 they bought which they were going to sell on ebay, but are having a difficult time so they are looking to get rid of it. So I basically want to know is PS3 worth it, or do you think I should just save my money. I don't have a 360 either so that's a consideration. Don't just focus the topic on me either, let everyone know how you feel and if you think it will end up being a good choice.
... or just post how you feel about the PS3 and/or Xbox 360 in the 1,000 other threads we've got going on about the subject.
Normally I'd be quick to close a thread like this because it's dealing with a subject that has been beaten like a dead horse, but I'll leave it open if anyone has any relevant advice or suggestions to your situation specifically.
Post in here if you have similar indecisive concerns of your own!

Well, how much are they trying to sell it for? What do they have with it?
If they are trying to let it go for under 500, AND it has a game or 2 with it, I'd say go for it.

i dont really like x-box's setup. i think the controls are too bulky and i thought the x box 360 was average. i played a demo of some game a while ago and it was pretty crappy. this is why i will always be devoted to playstation. cant wait to get a ps3, i hope they remake ff7 because the tech demo looks awesome.

Definately get the PS3 over the 360. Much better machine.
As far as your situation is concerned - depends on what your neighbor is asking for it - by March they will be in a lot greater supply so I wouldn't pay more than it's current retail. In fact I am seeing that Circuit City is getting them in stock on a more regular basis and they last for a couple days after each truckload.

Posting this in the PS section will give you biased opinions, the 360 is a much better machine, buy a 360 instead, Better online to, much better.
