Wow..battery size debate lol.
I thought it about while catching up on this thread, and I really do like the play n charge that I use. I know it makes my controller wired, but I charge it when it needs it...usually when I am sleeping and I have no problems. Its become a habit of mine to charge the controller while charging the wireless headset...
That is all I have to add.
To stay in the current discussion---I think rechargeable batteries are better and cheaper in the long run though

Not from past experience... I've never seen anything like that happen before (as far as the casing getting torn). And I have seen/used my fair share of rechargeable & "regular" AA batteries over the years...

It can't be by much... the play & charge kit costs $19.99 and the rechargeable batteries that I used to own cost me just as much as that... so that is pretty much an "even trade", in my book...

I meant as far as comparing between nonrechargeable and rechargeable. I think the play n charge kit is better than both :D

very well then. i shall get rechargeables and post whatever happens to the batteries. maybe its the brand of recharg. batts. i already have the batt charger so, ill post later about it.
but rechargeables DO work and dont explode into the batt case (the wireless-controller's case) and leak or something awful like that, huh?? :s

Yes... they DO work. I've never had them explode and/or leak or anything awful like that... you should be fine.

Yes, as stated using rechargable batteries is perfectly fine. It still dumbfounds me to this day, why they put that crap label on products, about using only alkaline batteries. Maybe, its a "conspiracy" with the battery companies.

yea, exactly what i mentioned in page 3 i think
a conspiracy to get you into the rechargeable packs. made by who else but MS....... i know they make quality products and yea, they deserve to be paid for such a wonderful console. but if i have a cleand & safe chance to steer away from getting those Recharge packs, i will. lol.

Well I can tell you that I had a cheap set of rechargeable batteries leak into a mouse and destroy the mouse from the inside out. With those things, I would say use at your own risk. I've got the plug and play kit thingy and it works really good. I've yet to have it die on me seeing that I plug the charger in before I cut the xbox off so it will charge for a while before it completely shuts down.

Agreed, I as well use the Microsoft Play and Charge (eventhough the connection prongs suck complete ***). Really, rechargeables come down to the quality like anything else, I too have had leaky chargeables, but at the same time a "quality" battery will net you the same results as alkaline. Personally, I only do business with a small company named Blind batteries and have yet to have a problem. Albeit, RC Car/ or any other type of rechargeable battery, they've been a complete success. Also, with a little research most of you could make your own packs for less than anywhere, if you so chose to...
