Assassin's Creed looks simply stunning

This looks like it is going to be the best game ever to date at the time of its release. I got a few videos to show you of the footage, and you can see more at the website. Assassin's Creed | Official Site | Ubisoft

Basically it takes place in the early 12th century around the times of the crusades. You are a warrior and expert assassin, part of an underground guild of some sort.

Some of the stuff I've read about and seen in videos makes this look like it is taking full advantage of the next generation tech. The crowd moves with you, and similar to hitman but better. You interact with the crowd instead of them just being much like inanimate objects. They can knock you down, you can knock them down, then chase you, they fight you, ect. The entire game is completely interactive. You can climb on everything, go on everything. Every piece of architecture from decks and overhangs to the walls of a building can be scaled, or destroyed with the right tools. Much like oblivion and fable all your actions have consequences. If you kill a certain individual, someone else in another town may not help you on a later mission. It is free roam, and no set questline with nearly limitless sidequests. Fights are awesome, not pre-set like Final Fantasys or other RPGs. The main character looks ****ing godly.

P.S. - This was one of 4 big hits PS3 was going to have over the next year and a couple months. Now it is available for 360 too.

As far as I know it was always coming out for 360.

It does look like a damn fine game and I can't wait until it's released.

I admit it does look amazing from the videos ive seen but hopefully it will play as well as it looks running. Although i hope its more action filled than quest. In my old age i find myself geared towards fast action games now than running around talking to people and finding quests. I like to get in ....shoot some fokers or stab'em and get out without talking until they died.

The only question that comes to mind: Won't this be a little repetative? I know you can run around the rooftops and free-run, but the main gameplay would be kill and run from the guards. Am I right?

Looks like a Prince of Persia and a Dungeons & Dragons mix. I saw the trailer on XBL and I took interest.

I don't think so. I assume you won't always be inside a town. Think of Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood quests. They were the assassin guild more or less. It was very different, and even though the basis for the quests was the same, assassination, all the quests were quite unique. Ubisoft hasn't really let me down yet, except Double Agent (but I didn't really give it a chance). I have great confidence in this game.

This game looks pretty cool, I like interactive games like this and especially medieval games, LOVE them. I'd imagine this would get pretty 'GTA' if you know what I mean, but you can always not try to play the game properly and just **** around. Like...running and killing random civilians or something and seeing what happens (prolly guards are after you or something) and trying to escape guards too and idk. It would be cool if you could like hire or use people for your bidding. I'd totally raise an army of peasants.

I highly doubt it but if this could be online that would be cool. Idk how but they managed to make a GTA type game (saints row) online so maybe they can do it with this too. Still try to assassinate people and stuff, but now there's more people you have to worry about (i.e. other assassins) and if you achieve certain objectives you gain lvls enabling you to use better weapons to assassinate with, idk, worth a try imo. I want a good online medieval game.

EDIT - The fights look pretty sweet, and realistic too, finally. Tired of these games where it's just hack hack hack to the face and 5 minute swordfights.

they got GTA online as well. Both PSP titles have it online and a mod exists for an online san andreas on the PC. Sadly the PS2 version of liberty city stories is not online...

The fighting realism is like Bushido Blade and it's gonna be great learning how to fight a bunch of people. I'm sure there is more than just blocking like they were. Imagine how cool it is fighting a big group of people like that running around slashing doing cool moves and whatever. The game is a great idea in general and I like the way they approached it, I'll be getting this game.
