Setting a Static IP/"Open" NAT for your 360...All owners should do this...
Well I've been noticing alot of posts lately about people having problems with disconnects and not being able to join. I've posted this link a few times, but it was always in different threads. This will solve 90% of your connection problems and such. Along with this, it also helps to set a static ip for your computer.
The link: Xbox360 Port Forwarding -=DigiTaL=-

I dont know man, you must've done it wrong or something. Under your NAT settings is it saying "open?" All it is is standard port forwarding just like a computer. Calling Xbox isnt going to do anything, port forwarding is port forwarding. If anything they're only going to tell you the same exact thing or to call your ISP. Maybe its your ISP or something. Like I said, I did the auto settings at first and had tons of disconnects, since I went to an Open NAT I havent had a single problem. The link is the exact information you will get from anyone on port forwarding, thats how I've always done it, I just didnt feel like spending an hour typing how to do it.

The Xbox Live Gamers is down, said the Xbox Forum. There is no need to do the Port Fowarding.

oh, well i got Verizon High Speed DSL and i've never got disconnected in my life, only that time that i kicked the modem and it busted in the back, yeah now its broken so i have a little today dog under the car 5 to keep it from falling out and disconnecting, sometimes your connection depends on service provider, Verizon is hands down the best, Earthlink sucks, i had alot of problems with their service, time warner is pretty good but i hate the way they treat the costumers, they made me so mad i called and said take the cable off and when they came for the cable boxes i said that someone robbed the house and i stood with them and now have free cable lmao, i think you can fix your connection by connecting to your modem through the Internet Explorer, but i forgot how it goes.

Could you show me that part? I've never deleted anything, the only thing I did was manually put in my default router settings (you have a linksys router right, which would be the same for you). If you could show me, I could probably help you.

Having DSL isn't really anything to brag about... let alone Verizon's high speed. I've had little to no problems with my Comcast high speed cable internet service over the years. I (unfortunately) have Verizon as my cell phone service, and I can honestly say that it's not such a great service that they offer.
And I hate the way that Verizon treats their customers... they are, without a doubt, one of the WORST customer services that I've ever encountered over my years on the planet Earth.
Basically - this is a personal preference thing... one person will like one service, a different person will like a different service, and so on and so forth.
