Well, I've got my 360 ordered, and am pretty psyched for it. The only thing is, it's going to set me back a bit as far as cash. So I'm looking to get probably only one game until at least New Years. What game should I get?
It's pretty much between Gears of War, and Rainbow Six Vegas. So, people with both, would you mind spreading a bit of preference in here and reasons why?

Rainbow six I played the demo on my 360 it is alot of commanding your guys what to do. You die pretty easy but it is still fun. Gear of war is a really good online game I herd. Call of Duty 3 is fun on and off.

You will not regret the purchase of your 360. You will quickly realize that the PS2 offered next to nothing with regards to online capabilities.
It will be hard to recommend just one game to any person. It would all depend on what type of game style that person is interested in. There are a number of great games that range from "older" 360 games, like "Burnout: Revenge" to newer games, like "Rainbow Six: Vegas". Just know that whatever game you get, it will keep you entertained for a LONG time.
Also, the 360 offers the arcade which allows you to download old school games like "Contra", "Galaga", and "Frogger". You will NEVER be bored with your 360, if you are a gamer!
When you get your system setup, send me a friend invite to "Angry Tapeworm"!

GoW: Graphically mind blowing...Short single player..fun but limited multiplayer. In short it's almost like playing the best Sci-Fi movie you've ever seen.
Still can't get over the graphics..it's just sick and I don't even have my HDTV yet
R6V: Alot of people in this community are getting this game, if not playing it now. MP has many options and styles, while rewarding you for your experience. SP is just as challenging as MP. I've now heard more than 1 person other than me say that some of the street battles are eriely similiar to the bank heist scene in the Movie Heat
CoD3: No Blood...Nuff Said
In short...Rent GoW...Buy R6V

You sold me on that comment. My 360 is being shipped today, as is Rainbow 6 Vegas.
Within the week I'll be joining y'all on 360. Thanks for the info everyone :)

well it's too late now but for future refference you could do what i do and just rent games until one really grabs your attention. at that point you should have enough cash saved up to buy a game or two that you think is worth owning.
something else you might want to do now is to download microsoft media connect and go ahead and get that set up for when your 360 gets to you. it is sooooo great being able to stream my mp3's and downloaded movies through to my entertainment system.
one last thing, i don't know if you've been warned about this yet or not so i'll tell ya, the hdd claims it's a 20 gig but if you check it on the info screen you'll notice you've got half of that space. i went through and deleted 90% of the goofy crap that came preloaded and boosted my capacity from 11 gigs to 13. don't get too freaked over it though, i've got 10-12 game saves, 3 cd's worth of music, 5 demos, a bunch of donloadable content for various games, and 6 arcade games on my hd and i've still got 6-7 gigs left.
