TV & movies on XBox 360
Full Article
Summary
Some of you may have already seen it, either on the X-Box site or while playing on XBL, but there will soon be TV shows and Movies available on XBL Marketplace.
I think at the bottom of that article, there is a list of the stations who are participating in it. Some of the better ones in my opinion are Spike, Adult Swim (for Family Guy), and Comedy Central.
I suppose you will have to pay for them, but I reckon they will be worth it.
It doesn't really say if you will have to pay for the TV shows, but you most likely will, and the Movies definitely wont be free.
It goes "Live" on November 22nd which is only next week. Pretty good line-up if you ask me, I'm sure there will be more after that if its a success which is highly likely.
It also says on the article that November 22nd is the 1 year anniversary of the release of the 360. Happy Birthday.

It's also the same date as my nephew's fourth birthday.

You are going to get him a 360 right?
Anyway.
Creep, you been playing longer than I have, have you heard anything about this?
Like any details of cost or any crap like that?
I think its cool that you can watch them, but a little pointless. You are watching your 360 on a TV, most people's TV has cable with those stations on already.
Hard to reason, but it sounds good.

true, BUT, for people like me who have sporadic work schedules can download and watch the shows they've missed. plus, with the hard drive and all the other media capabilities of the 360 it can probably be used like tivo where you can record or download a show while you watch or play something else.

He already "has one"... isn't that right, JAKKMOVE?
Actually, it's my brother-in-law's Xbox 360, but his son plays it all the time. He was destined to be a padawan gamer!

I know about as much as you do at this point... I've seen it advertised on Xbox Live, but that's about all that I know so far. I'd almost rather have it be a big surprise to everyone, anyway... it's more fun like that!

Whoops.
I get what you mean about people with schedules. It will probably help even me, I forget to watch TV most of the time. I know, it sounds dumb, but Im either on the computer, playing video games, or having a life, so TV gets forgotten about almost.
I highly doubt they will make every episode of every series they put on there, it would be to easy to copy them onto disk or whatever and sell them. I have never done that in my life.
I also doubt that there will be much to download when it first gets running, by Christmas I think it should be running "full strength" though.
Paying to watch Family Guy episodes that are on every night on 2 different stations will be fun.

Well, I checked for anything downloadable on Xbox Live last night - but I didn't see anything new... it was only an hour or so after midnight, so something could very well be there to download by now (9am CST).
Funny how I look forward to Wednesdays now...

$2 SD show
$3 HD show
$3 SD movie
$6 HD movie
This comes off cheaper then blockbuster and a hell of lot easier.

Not to mention my wife and I have a boycott placed on Blockbuster... we really loathe the fact that they are pretty much the only video rental company around anymore.
They successfully "killed" off this local ma & pa video rental store that I used to be able to walk to near my house... I'll always hate them for that.
