PS3 Launch Day Numbers

I got the Sunday add for Best Buy yesterday. Apparantley for Launch on Friday to cut down on Chaos, They're handing out Raffle/Lottery Tickets at 7:00 am. You get a ticket and then you get the call, if you're lucky.
They stated in the add that they will have 20 or 30 ( I don't remember ) 60 Gig units and a 10 count of 20 Gig units.

I don't know if thats the Store for Store count for the amount of PS3s they're getting at Best Buy, but nonetheless it was useful information.


Circuit City's add was about as uninformative as the amount of stock they keep on the shelves. Nill

I'm very glad Best Buy is doing the lottery as it is fair and gives everybody a legitimate shot.

Yeah, I read this article today, but decided I'd keep it to myself. Too late now I guess.

I have an inside line at Sears, who looks to be an easy place for purchase if you know when & where to be.

So how exactly will this Best Buy raffle work? You stand in line before opening, get a ticket, and then if they call your number at opening you get a unit? That would really suck for these guys...

You walk up and get a Ticket and you probably write down your personal info on one ticket and take the ticket with the corresponding number. Then they will call you if your number comes up.

They are definetly selling way more 60 Gig units than 20 Gigs. I'm still at odds if I want to get one now. The way Best Buy is handling it, re-kindeld my interest because I'm not camping out, and it's the fairest way. But I do have my secret stores up my sleeve.

You go there Friday morning at 7:00 am or 8:00 am ...I need to look at the flyer again to confirm the actual time , it's at home . I'm going to use the Best Buy ticket as my Auto Pilot~Lucky Rabbit Foot Plan. I'll grab a Tickey and then ride around to my under the radar spots.

The superwalmart in Ark City (about 20 minutes from where i live, and where i got to college) has a PS3 kiosk setup. And its amazing. I was there while the guy was setting it up, as were 5 or so other guys just staring waiting to see it. ANywho, i heard a Walmart employee say that they'll probably only get 3-5.

I think I'd take the word of a grapefruit over that of a Walmart employee...

I would, it may be a SuperWalmart, but I live in Kansas. I highly doubt a Super Walmart around here will get too many, considering there is at least 10 others in surrounding cities.

I stated in a different thread that I've found a retailer practically down the street from me that's getting approximately 100 PS3s on launch day. They're giving out the 100 PS3 "purchase vouchers" at 10pm, and the store will re-open at midnight to sell the consoles.

Better odds than I faced for the PS2 launch, as I lucked out into a line for a store that got only 24 consoles.

Needless to say... me, my brother, and some friends of ours will try our luck at getting one this way...

lol, I just called my local Walmart and they said theres 40 people online ALREADY. Their building Tents outside and the release is still 2 days away !! I am not kidding.
