NOPE, PS3 is a next gen console they are not gonna spend another Billion + $ to make slim ones, besides ps3 "sucks" sony is scared of its rivals so they have to talk trash about them and what they need to change

since when does sony tell other gaming companys what they need to change?!

i dont think they will make a slim ps3. I dont know why they did it with the ps2, but i figure theres alot more that needs to be held, ergo, a bigger system.

Anyway, back on topic. I highly doubt they would make a slim line because the hard drive would be too big to make that small. Maybe if they made it tiny but with the same power they could, but I'm no "techie" and have no idea whether or not they could do that.

One of the primary reasons the PS3 is so bulky is because of the internal power converter. Unlike the 360, who's power converter is a large brick on the external power cord, the PS3's is within the machine.

It'll be a long time before we see a slimmed down PS3, but as technology and manufacturing processes progress, I'm sure we'll see one eventually. Just like the PS2.

With all the technological stuff packed into the Playstation 3, I don't think they could make a slim. If they did, it would be a longway in the future, or the system would not compare with the "Fatty" Playstation 3.

The only reason the PS2 was 'fat' when it came out was because it had the power adapter inside it. The only way the PS3 will ever be slim if they do the same. There is no need to make the PS3 smaller, it has the integrated ethernet socket and all the other stuff they modified in the PS2. There is simply no point to make a slim PS3.
