Help me decide
I was just wondering if anyone who has already got a 360, please help me decide which game to get.

I'm hoping to get a 360 within the next couple of weeks, what game should I get from the following?

Call of Duty 3

- or -

Rainbow Six: Vegas

- or -

Need for Speed: Carbon

I know that no one has played them (maybe you have NFS), but I have never really played a 360 for more than a few minutes, so from past experiences, and maybe knowing the tendencies of the games, please tell me which you think I should get from those two.

I'm looking to maximise my "experience" of the 30-day free trial of the XBL Gold service, so point me in the direction of a game that should let me get the best play from XBL Gold so I can also make a decision on getting that.

I am also thinking of getting Saints Row, but that will be a last resort.

That's the beaughty of a 360 . You take it home start up your "Live" trial service. And then you can Download the games that you have interest in and you can see for yourself. The COD3 Demo is not available yet but will be soon.
The Live service itself is a must.

I also recommend if you have a debit card to start up a Gamefly account, where you constantly have games coming in and out for a reasonable price per month.

You also want to get a Nyko Intercoler ( $ 20 Clams ) for the back of your 360 to keep it cool. You'll be playing an awful lot when you get it

There are quite a few of us on the forums that play Saint's Row, which I hope to play more, since the resent patch. I'm going to be playing lot's of different online titles for 360 in the next few months.

Look for: Gears of War
F.E.A.R.
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Thanks a lot.

I heard that the inter-cooler was, in some cases, damaging the console.

Anyone had this happen to them? Is it a common thing or not?

I was looking on the X-Box site, and it said that the most played game online right now is Saints Row, must be something about it that gets people playing.

I'm leaning towards COD 3 but that could all change.

Only $60 to go and I got the console and a game.

I already have the Internet connection which I used for my PS2.

Everyone recommends the inter-cooler, if I don't get it, whats the maximum time length you recommend leaving the console on without it having a "rest"?

I don't want to fry the damn thing after only playing it once.

Thanks for the help Nun, I saw F.E.A.R in Wal-mart today, it looks pretty good actually. I was actually going to get a 360 while I was there but the box was slightly damaged and that's the only one they had left. I didn't want to risk getting a chipped or internally damaged one, I know theres always a risk but a damaged box just tells me its going to be "Dee-Dee-Dee".

Hasn't happened to me just yet... but lately, I have been running my 360 with the intercooler turned off. I bought a separate handheld fan from a store for additional cooling from around the space my 360 sits in. Only cost me $9.99, even... supposedly, Microsoft is releasing an intercooler of their own. I'll probably buy it, just so they can't come back and claim that I "voided the extended warranty" that I purchased.

There are a bunch of us from the forums here that are in the [VGF] clan... I think it's a much better game now that THQ released the update patch. They seem to respond much faster to us, as gamers, than Zipper EVER did for any of the SOCOM games.

This game has been added to my Christmas/birthday list, as well... keeping my fingers crossed that I get it.

LMAO... perhaps it should be. Didn't hear too much of that word spoken last night, though. I finally had the chance to try out new game modes, other than the commonly played "Protect The Pimp" mode.

Hope to have a chance to play more Saints Row online tonight, though... either that, or more Uno/Texas Hold em/Mortal Kombat 3 action with some of the people on my friend's list.
