does anyone know a site where i can find a list of the scheduled arcade releases? i'm trying to get an idea of which games will be released and when but i can't find anything on the net so i'm wondering if maybe one of you know where to look maybe.
I'm sure you've probably seen these already. I looked all over, and most of the previews stop short of announcements at the end of October. I'll keep searching. The golden nugget of info is somewhere.....
I have a question about the arcade too, I'm hoping to get a 360 within the next few weeks.
These Microsoft point things are used to get stuff in the arcade from what I understand.
And you can buy the Microsoft points in stores.
Is there a way to earn the points? Like when you play online games you get rewarded with points or something?
Just curious as to how it works, I'm a total X-Box noob, Ive hated X-Box since day 1 so now I want one I'm a little behind on all the stuff that relates to it.
I'm pretty certain that you need to purchase the Marketplace points at a store, and they are not "earned". You can never have enough Marketplace points, which is why I am asking people to get me these cards for Christmas or my birthday... not to mention they only cost $20.00 (USD).
However, on the OXM Magazine monthly demo discs, you can "earn" points by playing their demos & watching preview videos to unlock additional hidden playable demos, Xbox Live gamerpics, and themes for your Xbox 360.

Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience!
I have never left my house when it comes to purchasing "Marketplace Points" All you will need to do when you get your 360, is log onto the Marketplace and click on purchase points. It is the EXACT same price online as it would be if you went to the store! 360 will except any major credit or debit card......HOORAY for lazy people like me! That way, it saves you money on gas (or your shoes if you can not drive yet).

But at some stores (mainly Target), I've found that they sell the "pre-paid" Marketplace point cards $5.00 cheaper than they normally sell for.

True... I saw an advertisement for this upcoming promotion with Burger King in the newest issue of OXM magazine. It was a picture of the King with a pair of sunglasses on that had the Xbox 360 green circles... I think it said 11/19/06 or something... the issue is at my house right now, so I could be slightly off on the date that was printed.

this is what confuses me, as advanced as microsoft is, and as popular as the 360 is, why can't microsoft just release an "official" schedule for upcoming arcade titles?
i just downloaded doom the other day and now i find out that castlevania will be out sometime soon. if i had known about that ahead of time i would have waited and spent the points on castlevania instead, but now i have to buy more points. it's not really THAT big of a deal, but i do find it mildly irritating.

I wouldn't worry about it too much... my guess is that it won't be out until December or January.
As far as an "official press release" on the XBLA games, I'd almost rather have it the way it is. I like checking Xbox Live each and every Wednesday to see what's new and available for download... reminds me of having Christmas/my birthday once a week.
