"Mindlessly kill things"??? Are you kidding me? There was much more to this game than just mindlessly killing creatures... it was a part of the game that was needed in order to level up Kratos.

Yes mindlessly kill things probably wasnt the best term. It just sometimes felt like you moved from one area to another just killing things, sorry thats just what it felt like to me, I still think it was an extremely fun game.

gran turismo 4 has a great replay value for me im about half way through it but i usually just mess around cuz i have any car i would ever want and enough money, though i seem to be getting low then i sell a race car and im back in the game!

socom like everyone says is just all around fun

RE4 is on my top 5 games list ever, definately get that.

Also try Spartan Total Warrior and Ace Combat 4-present. :)

For me the classics are the best...there are no 2 or 3 BEST games out there. I can give the best for each genre...

Espionage: MGS, Splinter Cell
Shooter: Socom
Fighter: Soul Caliber III
RPG: FF Series
Action/Adventure: God of War, RE4
Racing: GT4

My favorite games are:

Espionage: MGS(every single one, even on nitendo)
Shooter: Socom 1. In its prime I say this was the best Socom.
Fighter: Newest Mortal Combat. I haven't really played much fighting games but I love the new Mortal Combat
RPG: Diablo. It's better on the computer but the port is fun and it's really the only RPG I ever got into.
Action/Adventure: God of war. Has to be the most fun offline game I have ever played. The story line is great, good graghics, gameplay, and it was just insane.
Racing: Nascar 06. When I get 07 that will most likely be my favorite.
Sports: Ncaa football 07. I just love college football.

SOCOM II was the best online shooter, NFS:U2 was a sweet racer as was Burnout:Revenge. Definatly hold onto any GTA you can get your hands onto.

I only play sports games, and socom obviously. But as sports games go, the best games i have played lately are NCAA Football 07 (yes, better than Madden) and NHL 07.

I just love the NCAA Football gaems from EA, expecially 07. They have the Legend Mode where oyu create your own guy, get recruited and try to win the Heisman. Plus the atmosphere just cannot compare to Madden.

I LOVE NHL 07. This is a great game. The only thing is, if your not really into hockey, then this game (and other hockey games for that matter) is not for you. If your into hockey, tho, then you will probably love this game.

I also played Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition. This is by far the best racing game ever. With all of the customization you can do, it is just amazing.
