I just got a call from EB tonight (at 11pm) saying that their taking reserves for the PS3 tommorow and that you have to deposit a minimum of $100. Only the first 14 people there will be getting a PS3 on launch day.
The store doesnt open until 10am. So now I have to guess how early should I leave to get on line.
I might not even do it.. Some die hards will probably sleep on the curb all night to be in line.
I just tried calling all my surrounding EB games and all the pre-orders are Sold-Out. One EB Games store said they only took 15 Pre-Orders..... which pretty much takes care of the staff there...and their friends.
Personally, if your doing a Pre-Order for a PS3 you should have to put up or shut up. I've had the money saved for the PS3 for a while now. Who's to say that someone puts down only One Hundred Bucks and does'nt have the rest of the Dough at Launch. Best Buy and Circuit City are not doing Pre-Orders also.
Ohh well. I got my 360 so that will do nicely until massive amounts of units are shipped.

I woke at at 6am and REALLY did not want to go. I was soooo tired and kept telling myself I am NOT going... Its too friggin expensive... Screw them..
I still friggin went. I got there at 6:30am and there were already 4 people on line. Stood in line for 4 friggin hours and GOT my reserve.
Halla-Friggin-Looo-Ya. While we were all waiting in line for 3 1/2 hours...this one guy came out of nowhere and was like "im going to run in there and get my reserve no matter what". I was gonna smash his skull into the wall even if he just ATTEMPTED that...Dude turned my psycho switch on. He eventually got scared off by most of us....who at that point were all pretty psycho'd out by waiting in line so long.
My first and last time ever doing this kind of crap again. That was nuts.
Congrats on your reserve. Now you will be one of the few to experience the PS3 before alot of dissapointed people who won't get theirs till Feb or March! Also if you don't like it I'm pretty sure you can sell it on Ebay before X-mas & make 100000000 dollars!!!

It was dead silent in my area . My Game addicted friends nor I had any idea until I saw your post this morning. I was just at EB games on Sunday and there was no signs , no mention of it. By the time I called It was obvious that the EB Grunts were already way annoyed with taking calls and shutting people down. Pre-Order was the only way I would have done it..Im definetly not looking on launch day because someone will get choked.
I went to my Gamestop at 9:00 and was fourth in line. About every 10 or so minutes another person would show up. After I finally got my pre-order and was leaving the store, there were already 20 more people lined up, and even more showing up (this was around 10:05). I sure do feel sorry for the people who thought they'd get one, but they should've known better than to try and beat me. Poor b@stards.......

I didn't know about this, but I wouldn't have gone down anyway.
One of my friends took the morning off school to go to EB Games at pre-order one, I think I will still be able to get one if I wanted though. There's an EB games near me, I have been it in like 20 times and have not seen 1 person in there other than me and the workers.
Its behind wal-mart with no signs or anything so I doubt they will have taken many orders today.
I'm still debating whether or not to even get one, so pre-ordering one would have been a little stupid for me.
