What's a PS2 worth?

The games will probably get you next to nothing, unless they were excellent classic games, or really new ones, or something, but if they are just like old Maddens or sports games, don't get your hopes up. Most of your money will come from the system, and any controllers you sell.

Each game will get you under 5 bucks if it is relatively old, or it will barely sell. More popular, new games will get you a 5-10 bucks usually

It all just depends on the game, and a used ps2 usually sells around 70-80. So you will prolly get like, 20-30 for that. Its a rip off.

i know its stupid i bought a game brand new (new release) took it home played it bout an hour, didnt like it so i was gonna go back and trade it in on a diff. game and they said they could only give me 20 for a new game. Thought that was kinda bull!

It's always like that for ANY game, really... Even if it's new, when you return/trade it, they give you a half - a quarter of the full value.

I was wondering how much I can sell mine for so I can use to money for a PS3.

I might not need to sell it but Its just a last resort.

I looked on EBay at how much they were going for, some of them were like $100 for the console, a controller, and a few older games whereas the ones with 2 controllers, a memory card, and 10 games were almost $200.

Its crazy! I wouldn't think anyone would pay that for a PS2, it is pretty old considering the next PlayStation is about to be released, but I'm not complaining if I'm on the receiving end of the money.

Here are my options, please tell me what a reasonable price would be for each, maybe on EBay or what you would sell them to your friends for:

PlayStation 2 (slim), 2 official controllers, 2 memory cards (1 official), a headset, possibly my wireless receiver, and 9-12 games depending on if I want to keep any to play on the PS3.

- or -
PSP, 32mb memory stick, NFS: Rivals, Halloween (movie), power cable, etc.

Just someone give me a rough idea of what I could sell each for, I already have a possible $150 on the PSP, I just don't know if I want to sell them.

But you all gotta admit, game stores are freakin smart when they do this. They make money when you buy the game, then when you trade it in they make more money. I mean that is smart and clever. Mean, yes....

Yeah, I sold my SOCOM II to back to Gamestop when SOCOM III came out. THey gave me 1 for it, and I sold my Madden 2006 the day before Madden 07 game out and they gave me $5 for it.

For the first, I would say around like 60 bucks. The Ps2 would be about 20, 9-12 games would get you like $10, 2 controllers and memory card $5 each, and the headset most likely $10. I wouldn't sell my reciver to gamestop.

If you talking about E-Bay, I would charge like 120 for it all.

Yea that's what I was thinking.

There's no way I would sell it to any game store, they should wear a striped shirt with the crap they give you for your stuff. I can just imagine I trade in my PS2 and I get a Mad Catz memory card for it, typical!

If I am selling it, its going on EBay. My brother actually lost $150 on EBay not too long ago, the buyer never gave him the money, he froze his Pay-Pal account because he wasn't satisfied with the product. That's the only reason that I wouldn't sell it on there. One problem solves that though, wait for the money before sending the product, duh!

I was hoping for a little higher, but I will see how it goes. I realise that the value of the PS2 will drop tremendously with the release of the PS3, so I think I will sell my PSP instead, the PSP 2 isn't coming out anytime soon I don't think. I haven't been looking at it at all, maybe I should?

Thanks for the opinion, much appreciated. Anyone else care to give me a rough estimate on what I posted earlier?
