New warranty for older Xbox360s
Well, Microsoft has finally acknowledged the fact that older xbox360's are having more problems. So, Microsoft announced that xbox360's produced before 1-1-06 will have a new warranty extension to 1 full year. This is good news for me since PGR3 was freezing at the loadup and it wasn't reading the OXM demo disc with Saint's Row demo on it. I get to save my $130. :)

Well... speaking of Xbox 360 warranties, I just received an official "certification" from Microsoft in regards to my Xbox 360. Appears as though I was actually thinking smartly when I sent in a $49 (or $59) dollar check to Microsoft for the extra coverage on my console... my 360 is now officially covered until October 4, 2008.
Like someone once said... it's better to be proactive, instead of reactive.

Ya, you can. Places like Best Buy will offer an extended warranty for like $50. When you buy the 360, you get a 90 day warranty when you don't buy the extended one.

My Xbox 360 came with a warranty card (from Microsoft) that you need to fill out, and send that back to them with the $49 or $59 check for the "extra" coverage. That's what I did, and I just got the extended warranty certificate in the mail yesterday afternoon.

That's cool, I wish I would've thought about a warranty thing when I bought my original XBOX a few years ago. That thing broke out of nowhere, and there was nothing I could do about it.

Much obliged, you just saved me 130 bones
360 crapped out on me about 2 weeks ago, and I've been debating on what story to sell the 1-800-4MYXBOX people

That's great news. I'm probably getting a 360 sometime next month. Even though it's not one of the older ones that's having problems, I'll still be getting the extended warranty.
