Yeah. It's the same as on the PSP. One light means hard drive, and another means internet (or just wifi?).
Does anyone know, if I watch a Blue-Ray DVD on my PS3 on a normal TV, will it look any better than watching a normal DVD on that TV?

Actually it is safe to press the power button (on the front of the console) while the light is flashing. I still can't understand why people say it unsafe to do so.
The reason being is that the console won't power off until the hard drive has stopped doing what it is doing, so it can't really harm the system.
Turning the power off by either the switch on the back or unplugging it can harm the system so that is what you don't want to do.

I think the green light is general wi-fi connection. Use ethernet with your PS3 and see if it still lights up. Maybe general data transfer?
And the reason we had this whole format war in the first place is because standard DVDs didn't have the room to store high def video, so if your tv is 480p or 480i, there really isn't any reason to get the high def version of it, since it's just going to get down-converted anyway.

When I first got my PS3, I wasn't able to connect to the internet wirelessly(it wouldn't give me an option to select wireless), but now I can...
How? Why?

The only time I haven't had an option to connect via wireless is when my wireless hub was down. It's possible either your router wasn't correctly working or the PS3 didn't find it fast enough to list it as an option.
Since then I have had no problems connecting, just problems staying connected. I am also getting the "You have been disconnected from access point" lately so I will see how it goes. I am thinking of moving the hub into my room and using a wired connection although I believe the Ethernet port on the hub is broken.

Mine keeps conflicting with IP addresses that my router has already assigned. I thinkits about time for a new one.

Mine did this at first. All you have to do is unplug anything that's plugged into the router, or turn off anything that's connected wirelessly, then set up your PS3. After that, no more conflicting IPs.

MOAR QUESTIONS!
I was just messing with the wireless settings again, and it gave me a NAT Type 3 and said with a NAT Type 3 communication in games may be restricted. Is there a way to change the nat type?

That is a router problem. You are going to have to open up some ports. I have been in NAT 2 for a long time, but my router is pretty old and won't let me change. :(
