Rep Power: 4 | Your Strategy I guess say favorite teams, playbooks, and favorite plays if you will. Anything you are willing to share. I've never been much for Madden but I plan to change that this year so I'm sure anything people have to offer I could probably use myself.
Teams - Vikings, Jaguars
Playbooks - Offense: run and gun, Denfense: Vikings or 46
Favorite plays/basic strategy - Standard short passes to TE and RB, dives and pitches. I like to run out of twin TE and fullhouse. For defense I like to play man zone as the middle linebacker. |

Playbooks - Defense: NY Jets ------- Offense: still trying to decide
Favorite plays/basic strategy: Shorts passes, slants , quickouts, screens , playstation action passes , Rushing : Draws & Counters up the middle. Occasionally inside handoffs.
Defense: 3-4 , Dollar, Quarter , and occasionally Nickel package. I usually select half-blitz / half man-to-man plays.
I was just playing an online ranked game..was leading 14-0 and the guy asked for a Friendly Quit...... heck no.... So he disconnected.. I barely beat the computer in overtime 20-17. Is it just me or is All-Pro against the Computer hard ? Its like you cant throw anything deep or over the middle or its intercepted. I would of been so pizzed if I lost that.
Im pretty sure everyone has to play All-Pro level in ranked games if the opponent quits..
Any recommendations on a good Offensive play book with a lot of quick outs / short passes / slant patterns is appreciated. Maybe i'll try that run-n-gun. |

Rep Power: 12 | I'm not going into specifics, but I'll tell ya' what I can.
I run the ball a lot. My running game is BEAST. If you have a weak rush defense, you won't win. I also call a lot of PA slants, and a few PA streaks from time to time.
I rock the Steelers D and O. I love my 3-4 :D
That is all.
EDIT-
That isn't ALL I do. I have special plays for certain situations.
God I can't wait to get my hands on this game. ______________________ I BE ON THE WEST COAST

Rep Power: 19 | I've only been playing the Madden Moments and Madden 93 so far, seeing as how I've been on a hiatus from the game for many, many years. Teams - Dolphins, Jets, Kansas City, 49ers (Madden 93), Giants, Browns, Eagles, Cardinals. Playbooks - Whatever team's playbook happens to be thrown in my lap. Favorite plays/basic strategy - Short, standard, and long passes to WR, TE, and RBs... rushing up the middle or off-tackle.
Thinking about starting up my Head Coach 09 game in a few minutes, so I can get into the playbook editor. ______________________ Introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos! |

Rep Power: 8 | Don't have 09 yet, but I did play 06, 07 and 08.
I never really have a set plan. I do try to get a good balance between run and pass, more run in the 1st quarter. I always try to read the defense and I'll adjust my play to what I'm seeing.
On defense I just try to pick up the offenses strategy and defend against their strengths. And that usually never goes well.
One of my friends told me I would be a good offensive coordinator. So yeah, I'm a lot better on offense than I am on defense. ______________________ CLICKY I FINALLY REMEMBERED TO CALL BOB AFTER I'D BEEN DRINKING

Rep Power: 4 | I need a lot of help in my passing game. It's so damn hard this year it seems like. I have an awesome run game, but when it comes to passing I feel like I'm setting myself up for a blown drive every time. If anyone has anything that might help it'd be appreciated. I think I'm going to start a notebook though and writing down plays.
Edit:
I havn't applied this to an actual game yet, but some of the basics this site has looks to be of some good help. SportsGamer.com : Madden NFL 09 Training Camp

For instance, if you call a roll-out passing play where a receiver (or two) run their routes to the right, audible the slide protection to the right, and you should have plenty of time in the pocket to make a quality pass to an open player. ______________________ Introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos! |

I also started changing some of my routes when I get up to the line, and wasn't aware that in order to get the best pass off you need to have your feet set as quarter back. |

Also, make the R2 button your friend when you're scrambling in the pocket... I've gotten out of quite a few potential sacks by using that trust little button. ______________________ Introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos! |

Rep Power: 8 | Creep nailed it.
<3 to R2 indeed (More so with McCoy and Grutza on NCAA that Palmer on Madden).
A simple tip I use is not to focus on one or tow receivers. Sometimes I say "I'm throwing to him" before I even snap the ball and it turns into an interception or deflection.
Another thing is look for your Tight End. TEs will never see double coverage and they usually get stuck by a linebacker. So if you have a nice athletic TE, he can lose that LB no problem. I could probably dominate a game just throwing to my TE (at least until the defense picked up on it).
Hot routes are a must at certain times. What I'll do is look at the defense, see how they might be playing and adjust a route or two. I also like to use hot routes on 3rd down, mostly for smart curls. That's usually when I'm looking for one receiver. ______________________ CLICKY I FINALLY REMEMBERED TO CALL BOB AFTER I'D BEEN DRINKING

QB runs are such a ***** move. When people do that **** on me, I shut the game down and don't allow them to do ****. I become a total ball hog and do little things, but enough to keep my drive going and eat up the clock ______________________ I BE ON THE WEST COAST
