Nothing in very recent memory... but I'll never forget not beating Half Life. To be honest I never really thought that much of it, but I thought it was OK, so I ploughed through to the end. Well, almost the end. I got to the final level and my hard drive died, my saves went with it, and there was no way in hell I was going to go through all that again. That was somewhat soul destroying, because I more or less forced myself to the end just to play the game that world + dog was losing their minds over, rather than playing it because I loved it.
Oh, also GTA 3. I got to the 3rd island and for some reason never got further. I think I got stuck and moved on to something else.
And Resident Evil 2. I beat it with one character (can't remember which), but not the other. Probably something else came along.
I've kind of stopped buying 8206 games at once though, and tend not to buy more games until I'm either at the end of a game, the end is very firmly in sight, or the game just plain sucks, so I rarely get into situations like that anymore.
