I am now the proud owner of a "high end Xbox" and even after buying all the accessories for it I won't match the price I paid for my 60GB PS3. Try again?

There was more, but it has now been deleted due to immaturity of the bickering... Luckily I made it through to post my 2000th post. It only took me over 3 years! It's such an honor, I'd like to thank the academy, Libertine, all the staff.... *mic cuts off*

I haven't gotten a chance to play with my new Xbox yet, but it's quite nice that it comes with EVERYTHING I'd need to get started. Including an HDMI cable. I'm getting the Vision bundle tomorrow though. The $50 I will spend for that still puts me well under the $600 mark I met with my PS3 60GB.

I see someone made a comment about how "until you buy all of MS's expensive 360 add-ons, it's more expensive than the PS3". My question is what add-ons do you refer to?
The 360 has everything in the box you need to play it. Console, controller, ethernet cord, audio/video cables, power cord and a headset (In bold are the items that didn't come with my PS3). What else do you need?
This generation of gaming is all about the online experience, and this is where Sony fails miserably. I guarantee that there's not a single PS3 fanboy on the planet that wouldn't mind if PS3 online was identical to Xbox Live. In terms of ease of use and performance, Sony can't touch it, and that's the truth that some just can't admit.
Some would argue that PSN has just about every feature that XBL does. That may be true to a certain degree, but when you compare each feature side by side, you'll still find that XBL performs much better in all aspects.
It's quicker, it's easier to use, and it's a lot more reliable. Since I own both, I may just do a comparison video to educate some of you.
Lastly, people are going to say "PSN is free, and that's better." Is it really? I haven't played a single PS3 game online that has not had major issues with performance for the first few weeks after its release.
Call of Duty 4, GTAIV, MGS4. These are big titles, you'd think they'd be smooth as silk.
If you're going to ride anyone's pole, at least make a good argument about it.

OK, you don't need anything else, but is anyone here actually playing with AA batteries in their controller?
Also, extra pads are quite expensive these days - as much as a game, more when you add on the MS rechargable kit. I was pissed off when I had to pay £20 for a Dual Shock 2! Now I yearn for the days :(
I made the mistake of buying a core 360 and adding to it. It was all I needed at the time, but then I got a HD TV and wanted a HDD, so I made things a bit worse for myself.
All that said, I still love the 360, I'd pick it over PS3 every time.

I kind of agree with you, but only to a certain extent. The plug and play kit is $22.99 at Best Buy, and that's a pretty reliable price for something that is pretty essential for any wireless controller. In a given month, maybe 2, you would spend well over $22.99 on battery's, saying your buying half way decent batteries, not those rip offs Radio Shack tries to sell. All MS needs to do is toss the plug and play kit into a bundle .

I have the core system, have had it for about 2 years now, and I've never had a problem with it. All I really added to it was a harddrive, but I can't really complain about anything. I also recently just got an HDTV, does the core system not display the high-deff graphics the way it should be? I don't understand how you made "things a bit worse for yourself."

All Xbox live functions are better then PSNs period. Plus achivements are way more fun to get then trophys... plus you can show them off by your gamerscore.
