Then I can see why your so excited about it and hopefully it will not let you down. I've just been so disappointed with NCAA 07 and 08 that I'm not even going to give this one a rent.

I'm even on the fence with Madden 09. I've seen some game play and I'm not very impressed. Every year that also seems the same only with updated rosters and something tiny changed that no one really notices anyway.

I'll buy another Madden when they bring back some of the little things that made the game so sweet. I liked when a big hit happened the guys helmet would fly off, I'm pissed they took that out a few years ago. Also, the hits every year are alllll the same, it gets boring.

If you haven't seen the game play for the game back breaker I would suggest looking into it. I don't know how good the game is going to be, but the tackles are amazing. For the first time they actually look like real, authentic, tackles.

I reserved this on Tuesday. I really like 08 on the PS2, so I imagine with another year and a better system (360) that I'll like 09 even more.

This should be moved to GG since it's, ya know, coming out for the 360 too..

The online dynasty has to be the coolest idea EA Sports has had for NCAA in a long time. I already have four people, including myself and my brother, who are going to be doing one together. There's one other guy who may do one, to make it five. It's gonna be sweet. We decided that we would each pick a team from a different conference, so that we'll all have better regular seasons, and possibly meet up for some BCS bowls. Since I'm going to be the commissioner of our league, I'm taking the SEC, and probably picking Florida.

If you want to read all about how the online dynasties will work, here's the link to the EA Sports site with the info...
Online Dynasty : NCAA 09 : EA Sports

Also, they just released all of the player ratings for each team in the Top-25. So you can view every player's rating for teams ranked 1-25. Here's the link to that...

For some reason I like how they are having a different person on each cover.
Matt Ryan-PS3
MSU Mascot (Spartan?)-Wii
McFadden-360
Desean Jackson-PS2
Owen Schmitt-PSP

Just thought I'd share that.

The demo is up. I just finished downloading it on PS3. Haven't checked to see if it's on the 360, but I imagine it is.

Playable games are
Play now: LSU vs. Ohio State at Ohio Stadium
Mascot game: Texas vs. Florida at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium

They also have descriptions of all the game modes/new features and the modes/features 'perks' if you want to call it that.

Game Modes -> Online
  • Match wits and skills against another player from across town or across the country
  • Use ESPN On Demand to catch the latest news, highlights, and podcasts from ESPN
  • See how you stack up against the competition in the Online Leaderboards
Game Modes -> Dynasty
  • Build Your Dynasty: Control everything from redshirting to recruiting to scheduling future opponents and practice regiments
  • Stay Current: Stay Current on the happenings around the college football world through the ESPN.com feature
  • Super Sim: Super Sim lets you play games the way you want by allowing you to jump into the middle of a simulated game or quickly end a blowout.
Game Modes -> Online Dynasty
  • Gather your friends and take your rivalry and trash talking online with our new Online Dynasty mode!
  • Competition for recruits reaches an all-time high as everyone must pick from the same pool of prospects.
  • Keep track of your Dynasty on EA SPORTS World
Game Modes -> Campus Legend
  • Create Your Legend: Create a legend from scratch and guide him through his state high school playoffs in the hopes of signing with a big time program, or take over an existing college player and continue his career.
  • Climbing the Depth Chart: Move up on the depth chart through your performance in practices. The coach will be watching you so be sure to give 100% effort with every rep.
  • Know Your Role: Play only your legend's position on the field. Make sure you understand the coach's play call to maximize your play time as you become a legend on your campus.
Game Modes -> Mini Games
  • Tug of War: Battle your friends in the ultimate slugfest, Tug of War. Take turns running one play each. First to score wins!
  • Bowling: "Bowling" isn't just a term for the post-season anymore. For ten "frames" you get two chances to go ten yards for a touchdown. Be careful, this one is addictive!
  • Option Dash: Option Dash is a new twist on an old favorite. How high can you score?
  • HORSE: We've taken HORSE off the court and put it on the field. No basketball hoops here, only a pair of uprights and your imagination!
  • Special Teams Challenge: Similar to Tug of War, but it's all about the return game in Special Teams Challenge! Find the wedge and take it to the house!
New Features -> Wide Open Game Play
  • Ultra-responsive Player Movement: We've taken player control to a new level. Back out of spin moves and stutter-stepping a defender out of his shoes are just a few tools available to help you get into the end zone and fill your highlight reel.
  • Wide Open Football: Burst through huge running lanes, shed sloppy single-arm tackles, execute trick plays, and punish over pursuing defenders. It's everything that makes college football "college football".
  • Celebration Hot Spots: Will you celebrate your touchdown with the mascot, your teammates, or play it up for the fans? Find the hot spots in the end zone and decide how to commemorate your success.
New Features -> Home Field Advantage
  • Stay Focused: Help your players stay focused by consistently executing on the field. Mess up and the home crowd will take its toll on your players, rattling them to the core...
  • Ice the Kicker!: Time is running out, and your opponent is ready to seal the deal with their field goal. Throw a wrench into their plans by calling for timeout and put that kicker on the ice!
  • Learn from your mistakes: Don't let that interception get you down! Analyze their defense so you're prepared in future drives.
New Features -> Custom Stadium Sounds
  • Want to liven up your favorite team's stadium? Select a music file loaclly and decide when to play it during one of more than 20 in-game events.
  • Choose from a variety of events to play your custom tracks including when your team scores a touchdown, after a QB sack, during timeouts, before a 4th down stand and more.
  • Custom Stadium Sounds lets you create your own unique home field experience like never before!
My Shrine
  • Relive your greatest moments by saving your EA Sports Highlight videos and game photos.
  • Upload your highlights to our community website to download and share.
  • Check out your trophy cases and boast of your past achievements.
The bottom bar also features a message saying "NCAA Football 09 is in stores July 15th"

And BTW, CLICK HERE to find out how to get free rosters.
*Mods, I'm not trying to advertise (if you take it as such). I just saw this on another forum and they provided a downloadable flyer to help get the word out.

Only a few more days until NCAA 09 is out. I can't wait! This is definitely the biggest game of the year for me, and I'll be at the midnight release for sure. And I already have the roster file pre-ordered from gamerosters.com, where they put in every player's name on the game. I can't wait to start an online dynasty with my brother and friends. We have five of us committed to the dynasty so far, so it's gonna be awesome. I've called Florida as my team already.

With the new EA Locker feature, buying rosters just shows how gullible people really are (PS3/360 at least). But you should still never buy rosters. Waste of money. You can get the same or better rosters for free when all you need is a flash drive.

Anyway, the demo has me excited. The game plays so smoothly and looks really good. I'll be at the midnight release unless I can talk my mom into coming home on her lunch break Tuesday and letting me drive her back in MY car. That way I could pick the game up and grab some lunch at Chipotle (yum).

Still debating a bit over Texas or Cincinnati for a dynasty. Either way I'll get my chance to **** all over Oklahoma. Hopefully Cincinnati will have a good defense despite losing a few key seniors.
