Yes, it is. It's like Streetfighter without Ken and Ryu, or Soul Calibur without weapons. When you base your entire franchise around one gimmick, and then take that gimmick away, what's left?
Now, I enjoy MK, but let's be honest, it's hardly Tekken, is it? It's a fairly basic fighter that's just great fun to play. Take away one of the main sources of fun and you just have a farily basic fighter. So why bother?

Oh dear. Ok then, good point Blargian Toast. I guess i'll just wait until I know more about the game before i consider buying or renting it. You never know, maybe they will put fatality back in seeing as its still quite a way off release. I don't work for Midway so I don't know what they are planning. Glad to see you guys have play tested it so you know its a fairly basic fighter.

How many MK games have there been? 8, or something? Of those, not one has been particularly in depth or realistic. I would be very surprised to see that change now.

Yeah, I've heard that before. I'll believe it when I see it. Until then I remain jaded and unconvinced. Don't get me wrong, I'd be really happy if they did overhaul the series, but somehow I just don't see it.
We shall just have to wait and see. I shall post some more on this when we get more information. If it turns out to be pants i shant lose any sleep over it but if its turns out to be awesome then i'll be happy.
