Wink 30 million copy mark?
I have heard that 10 to 20 million copies of Super Mario Bros came bundled with the Nintendo Entertainment System. The same goes to Tetris for the Game Boy.

If you deduct these copies from the 40 million copies of Super Mario Bros
and from the 30 million copies of Tetris, the former actually sold under 30 million and the latter sold under 20 million.

As standalone games, they didn't hit the 30 million mark.

Are there any unbundled games that actually broke the 30 million mark in home-gaming history?

What, just ONE game? Or a game SERIES?

Pokemon Red/Green/Blue broke 30 million. It is essentially the same game just different color.

Oh, definitely. I spent so much time on my Red version. I just recently got back into Pokémon, and I could understand why it has sold as much as it did.

Agreed.

The ones after that were about as unoriginal as the boss names in the later Megaman X games. :P

Vanishing Gungaroo! Optic Sunflower! Bamboo Pandamonium!

I had a compilation cartridge from Spain and it had the Red, Blue, and Yellow Pokemon games. I got it when Pokemon was taking over the world.

I honestly couldn't see the difference in them. I know the Yellow one gave you a different bicycle because the yellow thing (Peka-something?) had to sit in the basket when you got on, that's about it.

I would think that if any game/series came close to the 30 million mark, it would be the Sims, Sim City, or GTA gamers but none of them come close.

Pikachu,

the Red and Blue versions had different pokemon in each game, like in one it had catterpie and the other weedle.

Also, in the yellow version you were able to get all three starter pokemon (squirtle, bulbasaur, and charmander). In Red/Blue you'd only get one and have to trade to get the others.
