General Gaming / Cross-PlatformIf you'd like to talk about a game thats on more than one console. Or would just like to engage in general gaming chit chat.
From the same developers that brought us Project Gotham Racing and Geometry Wars Evolved is a game tentatively called The Club. I first read about this upcoming release in the May 2007 issue of OXM yesterday, and it sounds like it could be interesting. Developers consider this to be a game that's like "Fight Club with guns".
In the article, Bizarre Creations' Nick Davies said: "It's like Tetris - when you're sleeping, you'll be thinking about different patterns to try." Supposedly, there will be somewhere around 50 or 60 levels... but they're a bit on the short side, lasting only a few minues apiece.
Time to blow the dust off of this thread wit' a little BUMPage...
I downloaded the demo on both 360 and PS3 the other day, and I must admit... the game was pretty darn solid... Bizarre and Sega could be on to something here. A surprise hit, perhaps?
The dude you can play on the 360 version looks just like the dude from Dead Rising... and the Russian that you can play on the PS3 version looks like a total badazz, in his own right.
Seems like a nicely rendered, 3d version of like, Smash TV... I dunno. But I know it was a pretty nice time playing it.

Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience!
I loved the graphics but i didn't like the game, it has potential but it feels a bit too much like gears of war with a small mix of lost planet shooting.

Now I have to ask... is that such a bad thing? To be compared with games like that? I dunno... Bizarre has had an excellent track record, and it doesn't hurt when Sega is "backing" you.
I'm definitely giving the finished game a try... oh yeah.

Thats not really how i meant it, the game just does not feel right to me, i would give it a rent though, it looks pretty cool, maybe its because its a demo, idk yet exactly how to describe this game. :/
I played the PS3 demo a few days ago and thought it was lacking a little bit, but I don't know what. It just never gave me anything that made me say "I WANT to play this more" like some other demos have.
Like Dante said, worth a rent, but it didn't dazzle me enough to fork over 60 bucks.
Precisely the reason why god invented store credit at EB Games...
I always use mine the day I get it. Because usually when I go to get a new game I'll trade in some games I don't play anymore.
Although it wouldn't have been much of an issue if I'd gotten an interview the 3 times I've applied to GameStop/EB. Oh well. I have a second interview with UPS tomorrow and just maybe I can camp out for MLB 08.
I used to work at UPS years ago... it's a great job that will definitely keep you in shape... just watch out for the dust... it gets dusty in their hubs.
On topic... in the new OXM magazine, they rated The Club an 8 out of 10... not too shabby.

Creep, how did your hiring process go with UPS? I just got back from my second interview with the manager and HR guy. As I was walking out the HR guy said he'd be calling me tonight, so I'm hopeful.
