I wasn't thrilled by the Demo myself. I didn't see SKATE as that much of a graphical difference or an improvment over TH if any . Camera Angles were annoying. Controls were kinda awkward IMO

Yeah the controller mapping is definitely different and takes some getting used to, especially if you're like me and have playing TONS of THPS/THUG. The graphics can definitely be better in some areas..the controls are unique like I said and make it interesting for me because you really have to time stuff so you don't bail. The replay/editing/upload feature is kind of cool.

I really like how you can do grinds and **** and make it look like someone did it in real life..definitely looks A LOT better compared to stuff on THPS.

Alright I got around to playing the demo last night and my opinion is basically the same as what I'm seeing. I love the fact that it's realistic and it's a big step from the ridiculous jumping and reverting in TH games. You But the camera angle DEFINITELY needs work before I'll buy the game. I was getting very aggravated with not being able to line myself up for the grinds all because the camera angle was ****ing me up. Sometimes it can be cool when you see your lower half and feet and stuff when you're grinding and things like that, but that's what replay and pics are for.
All in all it's a pretty fun game, but I don't see myself getting it unless I see improvements from the demo.

I played me some Skate last night...

First off, what assclown puts a timer on their demo? Seriously. I want to play, and play, and play. I don't want to restart the demo and go through the tutorials again.

Anyways, I loved the game. Initially the controls are difficult, and I think that's because they're pretty unique. I quickly got the hang of them though, and was pulling off some pretty nice chit.

I didn't find the camera to be that hard to work with. My first few attemps at grinds resulted in me eating a concrete sandwich, but I soon got the hang of it. I really found myself liking the ankle/knee level camera before the demo was done.

The graphics could be a little better, but whatev, it still looks good.

I'll definitely be snagging thins up.

LMAO... I feel your pain... the Blue Dragon demo that I played last night on the new OXM demo was the same way... but the developers of that game gave us an hour's worth of time to explore the demo, which seemed like a good amount of time to me.

I still need to download and try out the Skate demo... a friend of mine (who skates and owns a skate shop) said it was way better than several of the past THPS games... not to mention he said that it was way more realistic than THPS games of the past.

I for one though the demo was awesome. I loved most all aspects of it (my only gripe being the camera angle really...). But the thing I liked most was the movements of the skaters and such (very realistic for one). When they crash its a different story, but otherwise pretty realistic all the way around.

I really enjoyed this demo, the only gripe i have is the camera angle, it could use some adjustments. the FlickIt system in genius its like a skateboard on your thumb.
