The Death of Animation?

I was thinking about this recently and the more I thought about it, the more I noticed that I don't see ANY sigs these days with animation.

Am I just blind, or is animation really dead?

I hate animation sigs. Mostly because .gif formats make them look terrible quality.

not even cause of the quality its just a pain in the *** and it takes forever just to make text fade in and fade out its really not worth it the only worth wild animation ive ever seen is the water reflection one.. but even then u need the right sig to make it work

I've seen some pretty BA sigs that have electical currents running through text or renders. It would look amazing.

Future SOTW theme? I'd be down with that. Hell, I entered one before.

Mag's got a point about the sh#t quality of gifs. You only get 256 colors to work with. That's a task right there.

I remember reading something about animated pngs or jpgs coming down the line. That could change things up a little.

Damn, that would be sweet.

I like the idea of that being a SOTW theme. Not everyone could enter, though. Most people don't even know how to open Image Ready or that they have it.

ANimation like this can make a sig epic.

This is a very old sig, which is why the style is like that.

It could also be that if you have photoshop CS3 it doesn't come with imageready like CS2 does.

I remember this sig I made a long time ago with extremely awesome and intricate thunder, lightning and rain constantly flashing, striking, and coming down. It actually looked badass but I lost that along with the rest of my older sigs when I had to reformat a long time ago.
