Question. I looked all over in the rules and didn't find my answer.. sorta.

I take pictures and keep them on my computer I don't make sigs but I think they are nice and wanted to post them. But I read the rules and it says sigs only 8 lines max. If I could make a suggestion it would be to allow photos also? I would use this section a lot more if there could possibly be a spot to do that.

About a week ago I put that picture of Trumpet hero not even knowing it was for sigs only. Is showing off sigs only or is it pictures too cause I was trying to look through all the threads and didn't find any real pictures.

The 8line rule is only for using as your signature.

The 8 line rule is for your signature that shows up under every post you make. SOTW entries are restricted to the 500x150 px limit for graphics in your signature.

People show off wallpapers, website templates, and other large pieces from time to time. All that being said I would think it would be ok to show off your photography in there as long as it's not obscene or anything.

On the off chance that the Graphics staff comes by and overrules my opinion you can always post it in the off topic forum as others have done.

Alright thanks I was just reading general rules, and it said nothing about it. But I know you guys are trying to get more users in here so I was just curious. I will start posting some once I get a definite OK from a blue user lol.

Edit: This is show off rules. http://www.video-game-forums.com/sho...off-rules.html

6.) Signatures: Signatures shall be no more than 8 lines of written text or the equivalent. No more than 2 pictures shall be put into your signature. Pictures in the signature shall not be wider than the standard forum column width. Signatures may not contain vulgar or disturbing images. Violation of this rule may result in the complete deletion of your signature without warning. For signature designers the sigs must be no more then 150 px X 500 px. Further information can be found here:

Says nothing about what you can post in that section only states that. IMO I think someone should update it saying what is allowed in the section.

There is no rule on where you can post it.. It's more of a common sense thing.

Take the fail/win thread for instance.. look at the big pictures people are posting there. You just can't have your signature or enter a sotw with a image bigger then 500x150

What are your thoughts on having a large art of the month?

Your Large Art piece cannot exceed the following dimensions: 1000 x 1000 but it has to be bigger then the normal signature sizes.

480x700 is a nice clean size IMO.. maybe we can set one up at the start of September and you have all month to work on it.

    SOTW would still continue.

    Take it into consideration.

I'll do my best support and contribute to anything the GS has going, but I think you're still riding the high of 5 people getting in on the SOTW this week.

If it were my party, I'd try to have continued and even increased participation in that(SOTW) for a bit before starting something on a larger scale. And it'd be theme oriented when I did it, not just a generic "freestyle".

You could even do a "create an album or game cover", with preset entry dimensions.

Good point, I'll put a few resource packs together soon.. so no graphic members can use the "I don't have resources" excuse anymore.

Check the graphic staff section later on tonight guys, and if anyone else would like a few packs just send me a private message.

I think its a good idea, but I will have to agree with Omega, We should see if SOTW stays hot because if that doesn't, then I don't think anybody is going to do the large art thing.

What would be awesome is if there were something on the forum's main page showing that there was an SOTW to vote for.

Yeah that would be cool. Or having somthing like a Poll of the Week thing that would have the names of the people entered then a poll(Like right below the poll of the month). Although I think that would result in many random votes, and possibly a popularity contest.

Here is what it shows for me when I post on another forum I goto.. I would really like to put the competitions won onto this forum.

I see a lot of us like to show our wins in our sig area, this would take up a lot less space and could fit nicely under your post count.

Yea, let's try to get more activity in general before adding something that requires a fair amount of it in the first place.

And that forum image you posted KS... is that site vBulletin or something else?

Yes. I would come back to this section for that.
