Sig Rotators..

Ever seen em? Look at my sig, refresh the page and it should be a different sig, cool eh? Well, it's easier then Big Red's mother, it really is to those of us who know.

First - Download here, (in mozilla should open as .txt document) http://alistapart.com/d/randomizer/rotate.txt

Copy and paste everything in it to note pad and save as rotate.php

Then, get a free web hosting that allows php, 1001 webs is what I use.

Register and all that crap, then make a folder called images.

Upload all of your images and the php file into the folder.

Then copy the link of the .php file. Paste that in your sig and bam your done.

Could've written it better, but lost all my interest after I had put "First -"

Anybody here have some PHP knowledge? I'd like to edit this code to randomly display an image from an array of specified images. My motive is that I'd like to randomly display my custom gamer-tag sigs, which have different root urls.

I'd like to be able to say
img(1) = http://imgurl
img(2) = http://imgurl
etc

And then the script would randomly select from the array.

Hmm, I have no knowledge of php, and since the XBL card is on their server I could only think there would be legal troubles that would come along with that.

No, silly. All you're doing is saying "use this image, or this image, or maybe that one."

I'm not talking about Microsoft's GTsigs, I'm talking about the ones I have custom made, like mines, E Writer's and Murk You's.

When I open 1001webs.net it brings me to a site thats all in spanish and I have no clue what Im doing. So does anyone have any other sites that can upload PHP that I could use for this?

Figured out how to do it. Allstar you said 1001webs, but when I check the properties of you pic it was 100webspace.net. Hopefully I can get this to work now.

I found it easiest (I think this is what you are going for). Is to create the folder of pictures you want to be rotated and then you just add the php into that folder and it will randomly select from the images just in that folder.

That would be because allstar doesn't even know what host he's using....It's 100webspace.com

Yes I know. The problem is that my xbox sigs are generated & hosted by a third party. So for each of them I need to specify the url.

You could do the same thing with a code language program like Visual Basic, but if you don't know how to use Visual, Allstar's idea is great.
