I just got done downloading GIMP and I'm just playing around with it. Now this may sound stupid but can you guys tell me what the difference is between like, Backgrounds, renders, and gradiences? Another question that I'm wondering about. What do you use to make the sigs the way you do?
Render/stock is the picture that you are using in the piece, the background is self explanatory, it's the background of the sig, like different effects and such things. What do we use to make the sigs the way we do? One word - everything. Brushes, gradients, brush strokes, different effects, it all depends on how you want to make it.
Background-the first part of you signature where the rest of the signature will lie. It covers the canvas.
render-the picture you choose or do not choose to use
gradient- a fade from one to another color. could inclulde multiple colors. on PS found near the fill bucket since it will cover your entire canvas with that fade.
brushes-used more like stamps they add to you signature's texture and usually used for backgrounds, used with the brush tool
Do you know of any good place for backgrounds or renders? I'm going to mess around with gimp tomorrow and hopefully get a sig done. But I'm going to take my time with it. By the way Law, I have your little banner thing in my signature for obvious reasons........
