Interesting article.
Although people take somethings too far by any standards, may it be Socom or other games. On-line life is also life, but it does not replace, nor does it want to, real life contact with other people.
Stopping to help a stranger changing his tire has brought me a friend for life, because we "clicked". And throwing my new neighbour girl passing by a jovial hello has brought me my future. But that's a whole different ball-game. :)
And i believe if you "trash-talk" on-line, you take this behavior along with you in real life as well. Talk otherwise and you might become influenced for the better. Our clan tries to keep the language clean-ish, the comments good natured and the games fun for all.
It is what makes a game interactive possiblities a real winner. But it cannot be done without our -the players- input.
That is why i like some of the posters on this forum, they do their thing without riding the high moral pony and make it nice to read.
cheerio.
