I bought one of the original ones from some guy on ebay for like $65. This was like 2years ago and Im still using the damn thing. The modded buttons still works fine but everything else is shot. I have to buy another real soon because this one shoud have been buried a long time ago.

The modified controllers really do make a huge difference if you have trouble smashing down the L3 and R3 when you don't want to. We've had this discussion many times in the past and they all end up the same way. Most people will say "DONT PRESS DOWN SO HARD ON THE CONTROLLER YOU DUMB MOTHER****ER!" I say "STFU".

If you're game is constantly ruined by changing fire rate and reloading when you dont want to, then buy the controller. You can get them for like 50 bucks. Granted, you can go buy a new controller for $30 and spend $2 on parts and mod it yourself. Most of us who play this game as much as we do should not worry about spending a few extra bucks to make the game at least somewhat more enjoyable.

One last thing.....

Don't get too excited about the custom skins they put on for you. I've seen a few and they are just cheap decals that kinda look pretty cheesy IMO.

With a little knowledge and a soldering gun you can make your own for about 5 bucks at Radioshack. I bought a new controller and the parts and made my own, only took about 15 minutes to make and it looks and works just like anything you can buy

I recently bought mine (black, no cheasy decals) and I would have to say that it has increased my aim ten fold.

Confused? Well, I used to swap fire rate with the pop up team data screen and everytime I got in a fire fight the screen would pop up. Well it's kind of hard to shoot somebody when you can't see them. So, aim is much improved.

I would recommend it to anyone.

umm...for 12 dollars and alot mroe ergonomics, buy a chameleon/afterglow from pelican. you can pick em up at gamestop/bestbuy/eb/etc. the r2 and l2 are move din, so your fingers rest on em all the time, they have shorter tighter control sticks, a smaller design so you can reach buttons that much faster, and about 6x the pressure to work r3 and l3. no more bringing up the scoreboard, reloading, or changing your firerate, i havnt dont any of theses since socom 1, im dead serious, it never happens. its 12 bux, try it, if you dont like it trade it back and lsoe out on 2 bux. its seriously wort it, much more than a 50 sum od dollar stock controller with some dip switches in it
