live socom tournies?

ok i did not start playing socom till about a year after it came our but im wondering if there were any tournaments (not online) that took place in any area or makor city?

and if anyone knows if there will be any for socom 3.

GameBattles is the big name in SOCOM2 tournaments nowadays.

You could also try browsing the Socom 2 Tournamanets area. That's what I would do, could find something there. Or even try making a simple search on Google for what exactly you are looking for.

watch arenea on G4 tech tv they play call of duty unreal tournament, and socom 2.

its so funny, this clan said they were pros and then they got PWNED OFF THEIR A$$ES by people who never played it before, and they were killing hostages in death trap and were like we won!!

well im hoping that there are tournies for this. all iv seen are halo2. i wanna see some 3rd person shooters in th tourny scene. the live tourny scene.

being in So Cal, you would think there would be a ton of live tournaments for socom 2 due to about 17 million people that live here.

i have exhausted google, askjeeves and altavista. The conclusion: no beans!
granted, they linked me to tournament sites such as socomundergorund, gamebattles and similar sites, but all those are online.

i would most definitely like to see like live action, where you don't have to be in a clan, just show up.. meet/greet and play together.

i guess that would be difficult, due to the fact that you would need a massive amount of PS2's, monitors and overall equipment.

maybe, just maybe, i or we can set up something where you can come, from anywhere in so cal, (anywhere in the country if you want though) and just bring your own equipment (except of course the monitor[imagine someone carrying their big screen tv.. lol]) and just creating a huge lan party, one can dream, right?!

i guess i will have to do with asking my local game boutique personel if they know of any live tourneys, but i mean not a small lan party, i am talking about more than 20!

oh well :(

so of course i have thought about this from the moment i posted a reply to this thread.

so i talked to a few people that could help me out to see this come about and they are INTERESTED!

i guess now i have to see if there would be interest by the socom community in live tournaments in so cal.

ANY feedback or questions would be greatly appreciated!

p.s. i will also ask the people on socom online if they would be interested in live tournaments.

i really think that mlg and vgl the live touny events should include socom in there games to compete. they offer some great prizes but its primarily for halo or other xbox games.

i think its time 4 a change.
