Teamwork
I've found that you find people who you really like in the room and always follow them or have them follow you. You will always work better with a person whom you can cooperate with. Also, you should share a common interest in what you want to do in the game such as, rush, hold back, get the bomb quick, things like that. NEVER stick next to each other but don't get too far away. Stay about 30 yards within each other so a grenade cannot kill you both and you both can't be ambushed at the same time, let alone have the unfortunate 2 kill 1 shot embarassment of a good sniper on your back. Always have your teamate covered if he is on point. If rushing, take the time to deploy smokes, they're lifesavers and snipers hate em. Call out all grenades you see incoming and order him to get down if you see the enemy planning an ambush around a corner or need to fire at someone ahead of him that he doesn't see. If you just tell him to get down and he does he will see where you are shooting and assist you and it's a heck of a lot faster than trying to explain exactly where the enemy is. After doing this you will have a nearly unbeatable force if you're just playing in a normal public room against people who aren't playing with their clan mates.
example I was trying out for a GB clan one time with this other guy who seemed pretty cool. We both did great because we worked together and ended up winning on Guidance SEALs even though we were outnumbered 3 to 2. The clan said they needed to see us one more round on Desert Glory SEALs being outnumbered again. Of course, after just beating them on Guidance we smashed them on Desert Glory. Finally, the clan just got plain pissed off at us beating them and not being gay about it and laughing at them. We just said good game and asked for an invite. We didn't get one and went on to play Night Stalker with them. This clan was trash talkin and what not even though all we did was beat them humbly and say they did a good job. So this is where the common goal thing comes in. We were both extremely ticked at this total BS wanna be GB clan that claimed they were 24-7. We whipped out dual RAs and obliterated them on Night Stalker 6-3. They then left and made another room which they voted us out of after we followed to beat them again.
Moral is...teamwork is excellent and a key in socom; after all it is a SQUAD-BASED game. You should use it even if you think you can do better alone. You will get less kills but many more wins which improve upon your rank much more than kills do. Also, never ever trash talk...let your gun do your work for you.

In any online game teamwork is vital, unless it's a racing game. But even then team up with someone till you get to say, 5 laps left, then part your ways.

There where some threads about this before, but i'm gonna put it here anyway.
I wholeheartedly believe in what PANAmonium is saying, but the common occurence is that the people in the room are very aloof and reluctant to work together and/or take orders. If anybody wants to play as PANA described, put up your name and friends everyone else who posts theirs. Let's get some teamwork-based games going. I would love to play 8on8 with both teams working together......
My name is Big Red 11

Yeah this has been discussed before but not in a while so its all good. Anyway, as far as public rooms are concerned, what you stated is a good idea: That is, to stick together with guys who are teamplaying with you. However I'll also say its hard to find guys you mesh with in public rooms.. it usually takes some time before you realize you can mesh with someone and play good as a little 2 man team.. That being said, when you do find a team thats working good and your winning, keep it together. I'll often say to my team "Hey we did awesome together! Let's keep this squad going for the next map!". Hopefully now instead of some of your best players leaving or switching sides, most of the team will stay put and go on to win further games.. I think this is a great way to keep a winning team together.. More often than not, it's the team makeup that wins the game, not the individual players skill.
It's SYNERGY.

This is definitely true. I always try to ask "Hey, is anyone up for rushing with me?" And my clan member Lloyd, I don't even have to ask anymore. He just says "Which side you wanna rush?" and we tag-team it. It works great for killing those guys that just won't drop after a few bullets, and your chances of survival go up. A lot.

Team work always make you win. I was playin a Crossroads, 8v8, are team all worked together. It was just awsome. We communicated the whole game, not like over stupid stuff, over the game and the enemies posistions. We went 6-0. But it was cool cus, we all traveled in groups of 2, when they where randomly placed through out the map. Good times...
Off Topic: Holy crap wite, the pikachu thing is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!

I think one of the best game types for teamwork is 2v2. This is where communication are essential. I usually like to group together, whiel seperated enough that a grenade can't kill both of us and the two ppl switch being point each round. I find its the funner type of war too.

Not only does teamwork help you win, but it makes the game ten times more fun. There's nothing better than calling a dude out, making a qick plan, and killing him all in under 20 seconds.
