Rep Power: 5 | Xbox support sucks! I had problems re-upgrading my old Live account (Boondncks) to gold. My dad had to stay on hold for a couple hours, then he talked to some guy that had absolutely no solution. Then I got on the phone with the manager who had a foreign accent which took all my efforts to decipher. Then he told me that my account was deleted from they're database because I wasn't on in six months, and that he could absolutely nothing to help me/make up for the problem. So I hard to make a new account and start over. I had 8K on that profile to. =/ ______________________ Formerly known as Boondocks. |

Rep Power: 2 | Xbox probably has the worst tech support I've ever called. I make every effort to avoid calling them, because like you said 95% of the time you get achmed from Syria and you can't understand a word their saying. That sucks about your account though, similar thing happened to me a while back. I had a live account but I couldn't sign into live because all I had at the time was dial up. I had like a 20,000 gamerscore but since I never officially logged into XBL they deleted my account. ______________________ Avs - 12-13-0 |

Rep Power: 0 | Dude I totally agree. I had to call XBOX support one time and ended up sending it back in. Every time I had to talk on the phone via support it was someone that could barely speak English and the hold times were soooooooooooo long. ______________________

Both xboxs I had broke and I got tired of arguing with a guy that couldn't speak english, but of course when my mom called she had no problems at all and the guy was american and spoke perfect english I hope I never have to call them again. If they break again I'm just buying new ones, or have my mom call again ______________________ SHUT UP! AND DRINK |

Doesn't the 360 store a copy of your account locally? |

I got through to someone in Quality control after awhille . If I had to do it again I would verbally batter the overly nice foreign person to get through to QC. |

Your going to have employees that suck at it and your senior enployees that actually know what thier doing, but you see less of these due to a low retention rate.
Ive worked customer service for a few companies before as well as been on the phone with them myself, and honestly theres no getting around foreign help. Even if all call centers are in the US theres still a fairly good chance youll get a foreigner (which lots of US call centers are full of) maybe or maybe not foreign born still manning the phones. The thing is, and i hate to admit it is that the foreign workers usually perform higher than the american workers as far as average handle time, call flows, protocols,# of calls, etc. Even though it may look good on paper, it doesnt translate well when it comes to communicating back to the customer base, which I have always seen as a step backwards, but companies are only thinking about Call volumes and the bottom line , so they dont care.
Damn near every company is outscoursing at least alittle of thier manpower to the phillipines and India, but with the influx of calls since the xbox RROD emergency, was it really shocking?
I do find however, the level of actual service they provide as far as the warranty, free shipping, little scrutiny etc. is good, but i dont compute the CSRs and whether they can speak english good a part of that equation. ______________________

Rep Power: 1 | God don’t get me started on the tech support its bad enough that most of the time you get poor English speaking foreigners but when in those rare cases you DO get an American or somebody who speaks very nice English they don’t know jack about video games! ><
I had a guy actually take 1 hour to try and figure out what was wrong with my Xbox and you know what he just transferred me to another tech support. They need to hire real gamers to do tech support let’s face it gamers can talk to gamers. That’s why you get a mechanic to fix cars you don’t hire a chef. |

They work harder, more efficiently, and it saves alot of companies more money both ways. Getting gamers to do tech support for little pay and high frustration/work volume/BS is easier said than done. ______________________ |

You could hire 15,16,17 year olds for just above minimun wage that actually care about games and the gaming experience. It wouldn't be frustrating at all if these people had a personality and you could understand everything that they're saying. Instead their paying someone $1.15 per hour that probably doesn't even own a console.
You'd think with jobs and the economy how it is that they would take a little bit of a loss to help out they're fellow countrymen, but greed overides that. The Suits at Microsoft know damn well how frustrating it is that their Consumers are speaking to people in Bangladesh. They know they'll never have to do it. |

Not all of the workers there are bad, there are some that are really cool. ______________________
