Its about a 40 minute drive give or take a couple minutes depending on traffic. Your at Ft Lee.... You are either a cook or part of the 42 series right? Or 92, can't remember. But by the time you get to AIT I will be Iraq. I ship out on september 17th, And at Ft lee they dont give you overnight passes, So you will have to wait till you get to your duty station to start partying lol.

I know you will go to bush gardens while your in AIT, everyone in VA does. But watch out lot of jail bait there, I went there one day and talked to about 10 chicks, 9 of there where under 16 and I would have never of known unless I asked how old they where.

Lol, and you leave on the 30th lol the same day my leave ends.

Edit: You will be very lonely being a hockey fan in the army. VERY lonely! At least when it comes to hockey. And almost everyone smokes, dips, and drinks.

Yeah, I'm 92Y (unit supply specialist). I was going to go for field artillery but by the time I got down to MEPS they said that all the slots were full, so I'll see how this enlistment goes as a unit supply specialist, and if I don't like it, I'll re-enlist for field artillery.

Good luck in Iraq man!

It's cool man. I live in upstate NY and I'm an Avs fan, I'm already pretty lonely, lol.

I dip, but I'm trying to quit, hopefully basic will help me out a little.

Traitor, you need to be either a Sabres or Rangers fan.

Lol, I lived in Buffalo and I didn't even know what dippin was until I joined the army lol. And I thought I would quit smoking after basic, but since almost everyone does it peer presure got to me and I still smoke lol. And someone will find a way to sneak dip while they are in basic lol.

As a supply spec, you will be doing nothing but sitting on your *** from 9-5, its a boring job, and ***** that they gave you a PT belt when they really didnt. God I hate you guys lol.

And you can re-enlist after 2 years, and after 1 if you are in Iraq/Afgan. Whyat I plan on doing is reenisting while I am over there to 19D Cav scout. And with the waivers they are throwing around over there, I'll be a E4 by the time I come back. and they give you a big *** bonus for enlisting in a warzone.

Your going to like the army though, honestly, since Basic and AIT. Being in the army is the easiest job I ever had, and Ive done everythng from telemarketer to laborer.

Lol, I hate both the Rangers and Sabres, for some reason I hate every team from Buffalo, no matter what sport.

I'm gonna try to sneak a can of dip into basic, but I don't really see how I'm going to do that. Someone here told me that they were able to get their cell phone into basic, but I don't believe that ****. Don't they like strip you down to your boxers when you get there or something?

I didn't really want supply specialist, but like I said field artillery was closed when I got down to MEPS. My recruiter said there is a lot of paper work involved, but I honestly don't mind paper work. Also, I'm not joining the Army for money, or job's, I've always wanted to be in the military, ever since I was a little kid. What you mean they gave us a PT belt?

I enlisted for 4 years for my first enlistment, so once it's up I'm going to re-enlist for field artillery. I just hope for the 4 years I don't absolutely hate my job and become bored.

My recruiter is coming over tomorrow to give me a PFA, then it's down to Albany Wednesday to get up early, get to MEPS, and get on my flight to Fort Jackson. I'm so stoked right now I can't sleep.

A PT belt is just a reflective belt you have to wear while you do PT that your unit is suppose to give you but the supply SGt where I'm at didn't give me one and insisted that he did. In the end I ended up paying $10 for one. You wont get one in Basic though, you will be wearing the sweat pants and shirt that only recruits wear. You wont get one till you get to IET

Yea, they search you, but they don't really do a good job of it. Because most of us when we first get there are so scared we just gave up all the cigarettes we had and all the dip we had. You could easily sneak something past them. And when you run out all you need to do is have a family member mail some to you, but you have to get them to put it in a shampoo bottle and reseal it some how. Thats how one of the guys I went through basic with got it.

Cell phones are a no go though. Everyone that snuck a phone in ended up getting caught. Word gets around and everyone wants to us it, and when someone does not get to use it, they tell.

So, if you are doing something you should not be, dont tell anyone, and if you do, make sure you can trust them.

BTW I told you none of this!! lol

The only thing that I'm going to try to sneak in is some dip, I don't really care about my cell phone. Like you said, someone would probably ask to use it and I would tell them to **** off, and they would tell, so it's not worth it in the end.

I'm not going to have family or anyone mail me any chew, lol. I'm trying to quit, I don't need my lip falling off, so I'm gonna start trying to quit today. So unless they can somehow get my 360 to me and my new tv, they can all **** off, lol. .

If I get caught with anything, I'm just gonna be like, this kid I know on the internet was like "you can easily sneak something past them," and I think his name is Dan? lol

My recruiter should be here within the hour to give me a PFA and map reading thing, idk?

Jesus, I'mma smack the taste out of the next person who says some dumb **** like this.

Stress cards were a part of ONE CYCLE of Basic Training Trainees down in Ft. Jackson. If you don't know, there are some Training Ft's that are more lenient on it's soldiers than others. They call that one Relaxin' Jackson for a reason....

JIMDALF

Ft. Polk is in Louisianna, by the way.

SCUBA STEVE

Hey, high speed, Delta Force doesn't ONLY come to you. They have tryouts like any other Special Operations group, but you're only allowed to go there if certain conditions are met on your part. That RARELY HAPPENS, however, so for the most part, people get selected from SF, RANGERs, and so on.

DANSDARKSIDE

Make sure you send me those "FRAG-O'ed" General Orders when you read this. I'm putting those bitches up on my MySpace, lol!

HCKY21RSKOR

You're gonna be a fall guy, I can tell.... But your battle buddies'll square you away, lol. Let's just hope you have a guy from New York in your platoon that has a penchant for beating all the Blue Falcon's asses, and wouldn't get in trouble for it, because the Drill Sergeants liked the fact that he worked out all problems in the platoon the way the OLD ARMY did it...

Let them beat the **** out of each other... The winner didn't have a problem anymore.

By the way, I'm in the ARMY, and from the stuff I saw down in Sadr City???

I would love to be a NAVY SEAL, than SPECIAL FORCES.

Then again, I haven't seen many S.F. guys in action..... So yeah.
