Lifting Supplements

I have been lifting weights on and off for about a year now. I am starting to get more serious about it and have been looking into different supplements to take for weight lifting. Right now I have been looking into Nitrix, naNO Vapor, and Biogenetix. I have a few friends who have used these supplements and they have recommended them to me. Only problem is I don't know which one I should go with, or if I should go with any of the ones that I listed above. If anyone has any suggestions as to what supplements I should look into (without breaking the bank,) please let me know.

I never heard of Nitrix, naNO Vapor, and Biogenetix.

Alot of people recommend Whey Protein.

I drink Ensure and go workout.

Whey Protein won't produce the best of results, but can never hurt you. The more protein you eat a day, the better. I have a lot of friends that are big on working out, I never seem to have time to work out more than 2 or 3 times a week anymore so I stopped taking supplements. The most commonly used among my friends are N.O.-XPLODE and a lot just started using nano vapor. I heard N.O.-XPLODE really gives you a big boost of energy when working out, and is great for motivation and an intense workout. Just take my advice (since you seem kinda new with supplements) and always read labels. Know what you're putting into your body, and what the effects will be. And if you take anything with creatine in it, keep your body as hydrated as possible. Keep drinking in between sets, don't give yourself kidney damage. Good luck on your journey ;).

ok, ive pretty much tried every form of supplement there is with the exception of steroids and animal stax, but I'll be investing in Animal stax over the winter break just to see whats what on recommendation from Pre (he's my bro). In any case, this is how I feel about supplements.

You don't need them. Period. I have tried Nitric oxide, creatine, no2/creatine blends, pills, powders, whey protein, and I'll be honest and tell you that I hit my peak using a no2/creatine/caffeine blend called TRAC (listed below)

GNC - Maximum Human Performance TRACŪ - Orange

I was benching at one point 255 lbs and weighed 185, I was stronger, faster, everything you could want for a great price.

BUT, (that is a big BUT) I have been happier working out without it and eating like a ****ing monster and I am stronger. Reason being that when I was working out with the stuff (you drink it 50 minutes before you lift---its a powder, NOT A PILL---Creatine PILLS DONT WORK, I promise theyre a waste) my heart would be pounding so hard because of the chemicals inside increasing my heart rate and since they flush out all of the lactic acid i was lifting harder, more weights, and longer. My heart rate was TYPICALLY above 165-170 from JUST LIFTING, not even doing cardio. And you always need to drink water, but it did not put on water weight bc i was sweating right back out.

Now, I bench 225 and weigh 180 lbs, and ive been lifting for almost 9 months ALL NATURAL. I feel great and I can't ask for more.

If you do decide to go with a supplement, this is what I'd say to Buy(in this order):

#1---Definitely buy a tub of whey protein, but make sure its GNC MEGA WHEY--it'll have 40 grams of protein instead of 20-24g's of other people stuff that cost twice as much.
This is to be taken AFTER YOUR WORKOUT. Reason for this is that while you workout you're tearing muscle fibers and they need to be rebuilt. The rebuild process is called protein synthesis, this occurs within the first hour post-workout. When you're sore in the morning, its because your body has stripped itself of all of the protein trying to rebuild itself.

So take 2 scoops of VANILLA WHEY(everything else tastes disgusting) IN MILK almost immediately after lifting!!!! This combo provides 60g's of protein in one glass--typically they say if youre lifting, you must ingest 1g of protein for every pound you weigh.

#2---Get the TRAC stuff, its truly awesome, but just be careful not to use it for an extended period of time.

I did creatine my freshmen year, and it's alright, I was taking creatine monohydrate though so all I did was retain water. Now, I personally just use whey protein (sometimes, I always forget), and my bench (max) is back to 300. Pretty good for someone who weighs 195.

As long as you're doing everything right, you should see results regardless of the supplements you're taking. Just make sure you concentrate on form, and if you can't finish the set with perfect form, stop.

Low weight + perfect form is way better than High weight + bad form, but that's common sense.

After football, I changed my whole routine and have seen results in both strength and size, so most supplements are whack to me, though I am in the process of researching some different ones for that extra boost.

Look up L-Glutamine it aids in protein synthesis, it boosts your immune system, and it aids in production of growth hormones. It has other functions, and it natural, it's actually in most whey proteins already.

Well the thing about these supplements is that they are just that.... SUPPLEMENTS...

They are additions to things your body already makes naturally... For example...

L-Glutamine
L-Argenine
Creatine
Nitric Oxide

Yes it is legal. Go to a Vitamin Shop or a GNC and they'll have it. I don't use anything but whole milk nowadays, but I've seen guys use it and they blow up like there is no tomorrow. I'll find out more for you.
