Popping Noise
I was lifting inside with dumbells today, and I started out doing the usual curls. I then started doing some french curls, and my left elbow was popping each time I extended my arms. The popping noise has always been there when I do certain exercises that have to do with me extending my arms fully.
I have no idea what causes it, or why it won't go away. For as long as I've had it, it hasn't hurt, but I'm worried that I could have problems later on. Anyone have any ideas of what the problem is?

I never had/heard of this, but it could possibly be just your joint cracking, similar to the cracking of your knuckles. Unless someone else on these forums knows a little more about this, or have experienced it, I would check with a physician/orthopedic, just to be on the safe side.

Yeah it's the same thing as when you wirl your wrist as far as you can in a circular motion, youm ight get this except a little lower. It's nothing bad, just your joints.

It is the synovial fluid in your elbow. I have it in both elbows and cannot perform a single push-up without it "squishing" or "cracking." I assume you are still in high school Eulogy. Maybe when you go to get your yearly physical you can just ask your doctor about it. My guess is that because there is no pain, it is probably not serious.

Question: Do you sleep on your side with your arm bent underneath the pillow?
Your problem might turn into what is called "Tennis elbow" later on. The same thing happens to myself. Its impossible to do a single push up without my elbows cracking. Unfortunately my dad has the same problem only much worse. His elbow turned out pretty much useless at the gym one day because of increasing sharp pains inside the elbow. It turns out because of the way he sleeps with his arm bent all night the nerves became damaged. The doctor gave him a shot of cortizone and these swimmy looking things to wear at night which forced him keep his arms straight..

Yeah, I think I do sleep with my elbow like that sometimes. Not every night though.

Its common. It happens to me every now and then. I actually extend my arm really fast to pop it if I feel my elbow starting to ache.

It happens to my foot when I swirl it around. I always wondered what it was too.

Thanks Dynastar. it's good to know I'm ****ed for the future. =/ I can't help that but I always sleep like that. My right arm always pops when I extend it for the first time for a while... but my left arm rarely does... x_x
