I used to get really tired after having intense DDR battles, especially against my asian friend (lol). It's really not gonna give you a decent workout though, it's a game.
I borrowed the game from my friend once, and I was sweating balls after about half hour. They actually used it in some of my high school gym classes, and I hear about it on the news being a good work out, so yes it is a good workout. Only problem is the game sucks imo.

Typical. Believing everything you hear on the news.
No offense to you. Just the way you worded that bothers me. That because it was on the news, yes it is a good workout.
That depends on how you play because you can make it a decent workout. I will reword my first statement because it bothers you Z3CH and explain what I heard on the news. DDR isn't like going for a run (as far as being effective), but it moves your body enough to where your body gets a workout. Like I said I played for a while and I really got a sweat going. It's leading all this cyber workout stuff as being the most appealing, especially to kids and I want to say people who are intimidated by going to gyms or excercising outside. It's been popular to use in school's because of child obesity. I have a 300 pound friend who plays the game on expert, and after a couple of games he looks ready for a shower and a oxygen mask. But yeah, you can definitely make it a workout even though it would sound lame to say "I really busted my *** on the DDR today". I didn't need to hear in on the news to know that it could be used as a workout, it's just that I'm making the point that it's becoming popular enough to where it's been getting attention.

i dont think that a video game will ever be a good workout... Why not just go and jog a mile, or bike 3-4? and then, you would be outside, which in its self is better than being couped up insdie of your house playing more video games

True, but this thread isn't about DDR being better than jogging, it was simply asking if other users think it is a good workout.
I wouldn't call it a good workout, but it can be decent.
