If you have HBO, I would strongly recommend this documentary. It was just released a few days ago here in the U.S.
The most disturbing ending to a movie i've ever seen. And it doesn't even involve blood , guts or violence. Unless if you consider the annoying paparazzi .
Basically involves an Australian girl who was going on vacation to Bali ,Indonesia... Somebody stuck 10 pounds of weed in her bag at the airport. She's now in jail for 20 years. Bali is at the top of the list of one of the most corrupt governments out there. So far she's served almost 4 years of her sentence...and recently been sent to a hospital for severe depression. (not surprising considering what she's been through)
Its hard to explain everything...you have to see it to understand. She was a beauty therapy student before going on vacation. Just the raw emotion you can tell she didnt know anything about this weed, and she had no friggin clue how it got there. Near the end of the movie I was waiting for the "not guilty" verdict and it was the opposite ! Watching that was horrible. You see them reading the verdict and her hyperventilating and going crazy. It was just so raw and no acting of any kind. So very sad to see. Lets just say you'll have extreme disgust towards the Bali govt. and judges of that case after watching it. They deliberately did this. They were even laughing during the trial.
Throughout the movie her family seemed a bit on the shady side. But you could clearly tell she was the goodie goodie of the bunch.
There are so many people in our jails even today that are serving terms for something they've never done...but to see the evidence and watch the raw emotion of a completely innocent person be given such an injustice this day in age is really difficult to watch and comprehend. And I know movies are movies....But there is absolutely no way in h*ll she knew anything about that weed. If this story would of made it big news here in the U.S. when it first happen 3 years ago... Im sure she would of been released by now.
Description of the prison she's been in for almost 4 years now :

Kerobokan prison is on the outskirts of Denpasar. AIDS is rife in the jail and conditions appalling. Poor sanitation, lack of food and the tropical climate creates a harsh and dangerous environment in which to survive. Malnutrition and disease are common. The toilets in the jail's squalid cells sit directly beside the benches where food is prepared. The jail was built in 1976 for 366 prisoners, but it holds 525. Schapelle shares her 5m-wide cell with seven other women. She is forced to wash with only a small bucket and ladle. The untreated water is fetched from a dilapidated well in the prison compound. Food is delivered to the prisoners on a big cart, a bucket of rice which regularly contains stones, dirt and sticks. Human rights activists estimate that life expectancy in the badly overcrowded jail compound would be between 10 and 15 years.

Another example of how corrupt it is in Bali.. Some of the terrorists that bombed Bali a few years ago got less then 22 months in prison.
Some words of advice : Dont go to Bali .
