I thought it would be interesting to see how everyone on the forum gets their music, whether it be from somthing like Itunes or just buying CD's.
I use a service called Napster To Go where for $15 a month you can legally download all the music you want. But instead of owning the music you are in a way renting it. As soon as you stop paying for the service, the music files stop working whether it be on your computer or portable device. They also can't be burned to a CD or copied to another location either. The service is actually pretty awesome, I have found many bands/artists through it and have listened to albums that I normally would have passed over it werent so convient.
For the few bands/artists that choose not be part of it, I usually end up buying their CD's (if I know I like the album) or using Bit Torrent or Limewire. So how does everyone else get their music around here?
Also I thought I would share this screen shot I took today on Napster, I was laughing pretty hard when I first saw it.
If you don't see the irony, you are a retard.

Its a service very similar to Limewire, but my computer doesn't hate it as much as Limewire.
I very rarely listen to music, and if I do its usually whats been on my computer since I went on a "download spree" when I first got it. The only things I really download now are RHCP songs, and maybe a few movies here and there.
Its basically a P2P downloader, I would show you a screenshot but my screenshots mess up when I open them in Fireworks. If I find another way (I know I can use Paint) then I will edit a screenshot in later.
NOTE: If anything I said is considered illegal, its all just a terrible rumour that I download stuff.

Reason: Grammar
I get alot of mine from blogs, like bands who's albums are hard to find, if it's a band like chiodos/underoath/saosin, i'll go to my closest album store and buy it.. alot of stores don't carry some albums though... my fav blog would be .emofreak's.delight. V2.0
I think I understand what you mean DeBog...didn't Metallica ***** about people dling their music, and there they are on a music dling service? Idk. I am a ratard.
But I use Limewire, yes it's illegal, if you don't like it, sue me.

They were one of the huge reasons that Napster got shut down orginally. Its pretty disgusting that they are so into the money that they decided to buisness with Napster again.

I, for one, actually buy my music with iTunes. The only time I download illegally is when there is a song on iTunes I can't find. Then I use Limewire. I don't even think there are any CD's left in my house.
I do buy CD's, if I want the whole CD and not just a song or 2. If it's single songs; Limewire, if it's the whole CD; buy.

I hate using piracy programs, but I never want to buy a song/CD if I don't know if I am going to like it or not. That is probably the main reason I got Napster To Go, but sometimes Bit Torrent or Limewire are really the only choice.

I can honestly say I haven't bought a CD (an original, non-copied) for over 10 years.
I haven't bought any CD (original or copied) for almost that same time.
I hate CD's!
I wouldn't even be able to guess at how much a CD costs anymore. I don't even look. I think the last CD I bought could have been a wrestling theme CD I got when I came to America for the first time back in '98. That was because I hadn't even heard of the Internet, never mind downloading stuff. (Yes, I used to love WWF)
If I here about an album (Stadium Arcadium for example) on TV, I will go straight to Amazon, see what songs are on the CD, and download them.
I am not willing to pay for songs when they are out there for free and the authorities are doing jack crap to prevent it. While the goods going, get in there.
NOTE: A very good family friend was arrested in England for copying games, Films, and Music CD's. He got his computers, software, and everything related confiscated, and got off with parole. In America, the biggest thing I see preventing illegal downloads are messages on Limewire telling us that the download may not be legal.
That was because I hadn't even heard of the Internet, never mind downloading stuff.
Lmao, how in the hell could you not have heard about the internet? It's the biggest thing since...cable tv.
