I've been using a lot of private torrent sites along with some obscure blogs out there. I've been able to find a lot of hard to get or out of print stuff, so I'm happy.

I don't feel bad about it though. I go to a lot of concerts, and I always buy merch, and that gives more profit to the artists anyways. I also buy CDs that I really like.

I buy CDs. I refuse to pay to download music because the value simply isn't good enough, IMO. Why pay ~£8 for a downloaded album when a CD will cost about the same? Also, anyone who entrusts their entire music collection to a computer hasn't been using computers long enough! I want the physical media in case everything suddenly goes titsup.

I would only consider downloading as an option if a) it was completely DRM free, b) it was a damn sight cheaper than it is at the moment, and c) they had music that I actually wanted to download.

Why do you say that? I have my entire music collection backed up on my iPod and an external hard drive. I won't be having trouble anytime soon.

I go down to Best Buy (about a 20-45 min. walk) and buy CD's. If they don't have it, then off to Mammoth Music, which is located only a minute or two away. Border's Books is my last ditch choice. Yeah, I'm that cool.

Because computers break. Ipods break, and external hard drives break. I work with PCs all day every day, I've had my own for probably 18 years, and there's no way I'd entrust something so valuable to a PC, given my experience. Granted, I'm probably the single unluckiest person in the entire world when it comes to having PCs in general and every piece of backup media in existence all die at exactly the same time, but still... don't trust them. They're evil, I tells ya!

Supporting Anecdote: I love RPGs. I love the Forgotten Realms RPGs most. I played Neverwinter Nights 2 through, took me ages, and I loved it. Kept my game on my Hard Drive because I knew an expansion was due. It was safe for about a year or so. Then, and I kid you not, the very day I come merrily skipping home with the expansion, my C: drive dies. Actaully dies. Not a corrupt system file or anything, but hardware is dead. Not to worry, says I, I'll just get a new one, restore it, and it'll be fine because I backed it up on a seperate drive. So I restore my PC, and it wipes the drive my game is backed up on too. I was not happy. I will never entrust anything to a PC again and I will make no less than 5,000 backups of anything I really, really want to keep. I hate computers.

I finally found a couple of needles for my record player so I've been hunting records in pawn shops and a thrift record shop we have here in NC.
