Movie: Annapolis
Has any seen this movie? I just recently rented it the other night, and I have to say, it was much better than I expected it to be. For anyone that doesn't know, Annapolis is the Navy's equivalent to the Army's West Point. Around 50,000 students apply, and only 1,200 are accepted (Annapolis specializes in officer training for the Navy, much like West Point does the same for the Army).
The movie takes you through the eyes of Huard, a local who's job is constructing ships. He lives directly across Annapolis, and has aspired to join the Navy as an officer since a young child. One day he gets an unexpected visit from a Naval officer, who informs him several students have dropped out, and his name is next on the list. The movie profiles his first year at Annapolis, and the huge adjustment he must make.
It's not the best movie, but it definitly was an entertaining movie. I have no intentions to join the Army or Navy, but I still enjoyed the movie. If anyone finds Navy/Army/Marines interesting, then definitly check this movie out.
