They might use some voices from the movie for the Batman Arkham game but I doubt they're making an actual TDK games.I hope they get Mark Hamil and Kevin Conroy for the voices of Joker and Batman. That would be the shxt.

The local Gamestop just got a demo of Batman: Arkham Asylum sent to their store... and let me say this much... after playing it for less than 10 minutes, I went right up to the counter and dropped a $5 deopsit to reserve a copy. Hearing the voice work that Mark Hamill did for The Joker as I progressed through the demo made me laugh out loud, too.
According to their computer system, the game has a release date of June 23rd... and I will be the first to say that the day can't get here soon enough!!
There's been news of exclusive 'content' for this game coming out for the PS3 version... which instantly made me gald that I already threw a pre-order down for the game earlier this week. Here's a short article on the information, courtesy of G4TV's website...
If the prospect of beating up Gotham City's greatest rogues as The Dark Knight got you excited, then the latest revelation about Batman: Arkham Asylum might just blow your mind. Today, billboards went up all across Playstation Home announcing that PS3 owners will be able to play through exclusive challenge maps as the murderous harlequin, The Joker.
Apparently, the billboards went up earlier than expected, so if you're near a PS3 go and check them out yourself before they get yanked. Then, go to your local retailer and place a pre-order for the game if you haven't already.
Damn June 23 is a ways out but I do love batman and don't think I've played a superhero game since sega genesis so this might be buyer. I also read you get a batarang with the collectors edition so I might go all out on this one, who doesn't want a batarang.
I like Batman as much as the next guy, but there's no chance in hell I am spending a C-note on the special edition for this game... not for some toy Batarang.

I saw it was $100 for the special edition and my heart sank, if it was like $80 I'd go for it. But I saw June 9 release date now instead of June 23 so that's cool.
The voices of this game are already a good enough reason to buy the game. If Mark is playing the Joker, I'm already sold.
However, past Batman games have been just to slow for my taste. Hopefully they will incoporate fast paced fight/drive scenes into the game. If it's just one of those slow beat-em ups, I'll be a bit disappointed.
What villians do you guys think will be added to the game? I was hoping for Scarecrow and Mr. Frezze. Although, that doesn't seem to likely. ha.
I'm a huge fan of the hand-to-hand fighting tactics that Batman is able to use, from just playing the demo a handful of times at the local Gamestop... I just had to stop by there a few days ago to play more of this demo. The demo is really good, and always leaves me wanting to play more of this game.

Oh well. I'd rather wait and have a more polished game than a crappy one.

Amid rumors of a delay for Batman: Arkham Asylum, Eidos and Warner Bros Interactive have confirmed that the game has been pushed back. Speculation pegged the new date in the fourth quarter of 2009, and many thought that meant a definite holiday release. Eidos has now said the game will actually release at the "end of summer 2009," which means it has to release by September 21, still (barely) in third quarter.
The press release states that the additional development time is "to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers." In other words, it's probably about bug squashing and polishing up the game for release, not to mention taking advantage of the high anticipation by hitting just before the holiday release window. Check out our preview for more details on the gritty hero game.

Dude its not a toy, its a 14 inch prop replica, probably worth 30-40 bucks by itself with a stand in one of the coolest boxes ive seen in a long time. Im definitely sold.

Exactly... on one hand, I am disappointed that it's being delayed but on the other hand, I'd rather have it be more polished and be better than it would have been if it was "pushed out" when it was originally supposed to be.
