Here's the reviews for the Madden 09. I'll be grabbing my copy later on today. I played the Demo last night and the beginning Madden IQ Test was like playing football in the Tron Universe. My biggest issue with Maddens in the past is balls being thrown waaaay out of bounds when throwing to receivers and that's said to be unchanged in Madden 09. The new issue I'm going to have with this Madden is this....

Who the hell wants Cris Collinsworth other than Cris Collinsworth ??? I'll be turning that right off.
On last night's X-Play episode, they gave it a perfect score. I think it's not too far off, especially with the Collector's Edition of the game.

I thought the same thing, but to be honest, he might very well be one of the best commentators for a football game. Plenty of technical analyzation, and jabs about shoddy play calling here and there... to be honest, I think this might be one of my favorite playcalling tandems in any sports game I've played. They might be second, just behind the guys who did MLB 08: The Show... those guys were pretty solid, in my opinion.
Now if only I could quit playing Madden 93, I'd be all set...

I thought the same about old Collinsworth, until I started losing horribly to the Chargers and having to listen to him give insight on why my Panthers were doing bad. To which I rebuttled "Up yours". I shouted up yours to my TV screen .

You're eaxctly right. I had time for one game last night to which I lost horribly. I was listening to Collinsworth's intellectual spewage and it was actually nice to yell back and insult him through the TV.
Ohhh Imitating Madden is Hella fun with a mouth full food.
LMAO... only it makes for a mess where ever you decide to do this kind of Madden imitation.
It really makes me laugh to hear his commentary on Madden 93... makes me appreciate the Madden 09 commentary that much more.
Although, I have noticed that it's highly repetitive. While that may be the case, it's still not as annoying as previous commentary in the game. I think it's one of the areas that they improved the game, for sure.
I like Madden as a announcer but mainly because he makes me laugh. Sometimes he says the most obvious mundane things. Like " You see, you cant win the game unless you score some points. The team that scores the most points will win the game. BLAM". It just cracks me up. One time I heard him say, "You cant get a first down unless you gain ten yards, unless there is a penalty." Harry Caray used to crack me up all the time as well. Sometimes it seemed like he was watching a different game then I was.
Man im still wishing for EA to redo the madden engine and start fresh again. I really want some more fluid animations and slightly better scaled players, as well as being more interactive on defense. Other than that the game is good, it has a great presentation, and i can play it quite well, i just dont think the engine is that fun. More of a rent or buy for a week game for me, and back to 2k5... again.
Damn Exclusivity, we need some competition.

I honestly think that they're the best football animations that I have seen in years. Have to call it like I see it... I think the Collector's Edition is one of the best bargains that I have ever purchased.

Seeing as its the only NFL football game out to play, i see it hard to make that decision, but i do agree that this is the best theyve done with the animations. However, If they would ge toff thier *** and stop redoing the same engine theyve been using since like 2001, they might have somthing more spectacular than most of the mindless madden heads could even think of, but its never going to happen.

Actually, sir, they did redo the engine this year. :D
This Madden was built from ground up. All new everything if I'm remembering right.
