It's basically a weapons that propels railroad spikes at a high rate of speed. It disables limbs very quickly and does a good amount of damage. And at the end of each shot, there is a "choo-choo" sound. .
Holy Wow !
That would explain the rail spikes I've been seeing laying around. Do I construct this weapon or do I find it somewhere ?
Also, can someone please elaborate on how to gain early access to my apartment in Megaton ?
I messed up and made the business decision to nuke megaton with that business guy that I have to meet in TennyPenny tower. I'm not going to blow up Megaton but the side quest is irreversable.
And the leader of that snake gang in vault 101 if you decide to help him during the roach attack or w/e you want to call it XD
He's only a temporary ally though. The ones I listed will stay with you forever (as far as I know), or at least until your karma changes to what they don't like (for example, Frank won't follow you if you have bad karma).

Ok if you made the deal with the guy, all you have to do to get out of it is tell the sheriff that he told you to blow up megaton and he confronts the guy in the bar. Chaos ensues, very entertaining. Keep your gun out.

You don't have to do MR Burke's quest if you've accepted it. Just Disarm the bomb instead.
Also, @ Nameless:
It's Fawkes, not Frank
It's Clover, not Crimson
And in addition to them, there's Star Paladin Cross (good Karma, find at the Citadel)
Butch (Neutral Karma, Rivet City if you make it so people can/have to leave during "trouble on the home front")
And I forget their name, but there's a Ghoul in underworld that you can hire if you buy their contract.

Yeah, but I've accepted the deal and armed the bomb ( But haven't detonated it ) Once you arm the bomb you lose your conversation option to tell the sheriff because El Scum Bago has left Megaton and moved to TenPenny Tower. Unless I find that guy in TenPenny like I'm supposed to and club him to death instead maybe things change. Dunno.
Right now I'm doing the side quest to help that lady with her book in Megaton .

o snap, you armed the bomb too? I dunno if you can kill the guy now, but you should finish up your megaton business, maybe kill the sheriff for his cool rifle, get the bobblehead out of either james or the sheriffs house, becase there are gonna b a few missions where you need to be at tenpenny tower later.

If you're going to blow up Megaton, then you don't need to worry about having an apartment because you'll have one on the top level of Tenpenny Tower. It's a lot more visually appealing too then that POS you get at Megaton.
Until that faitful day comes, for the time being what you can do is go to the top of the tower out on the balcony where Tenpenny is sitting and jump over the table or chair and follow the balcony around. There's a back door into what will be your apartment so you can start storing items and sleeping there and what not.

Awesome...Thanks !

I blew that damned place off of the face of the earth.
Pros: (spoilers possibly)
Nice explosion
Nicer house though a bit smaller
You can still complete The Wasteland Guild (quite funny)
There's a cool quest that's like a mini war for the Tower
Did I mention the nice explosion?
Cons:
Bad Karma
No more Megaton, though TT has some good traders
The Area around Megaton (which would be called the Megaton Ruins) is rather dust after words.
If you do blow up the city, just be sure to kill Luca Simms to get his awesome hat, and to get the Strength booblehead in his house.
