Cross-Platform Game DiscussionGeneral discussion amongst games that are available across multiple consoles. Popular games will have their own forum below.
Jericho: You need bad karma to get him. He's in Megaton, and you have to pay him first.
Dogmeat: Karma has no effect on him. You find him at the Scrap Yard.
Frank: You don't meet him until late in the game, and you need good karma. He has a
Gatling Laser.
Crimson (?): You buy her from Eulogy in Paradise Falls. I'm not sure if you need bad karma or not, but it's very likely. She has a Sawn-off Shotgun, but you can give her weapons and/or armor to equip and use (she also makes for a good pack mule since she doesn't have a weight limit).
There's a guy walking around the Wasteland who has three robots following him. If you have good karma, he'll sell you one for 1000 caps (I think). It's a Mr.Gutsy (like the robot guard in Rivet City).
Like a few people have mentioned I am trying to decide whether or not to nuke megaton. I know there are benefits to keeping the town but I really want to see a nuke go off.
That's why I'm going to wait until the last possible moment when I can get nothing more out of Megaton but a little bit of Bad Karma .
Even though I couldn't care less wether or not profanity is used in a game I can't say that I've ever played an RPG where it's used so much or even at all which really adds to the realism of the story line.
Between this game and COD - WaW I'll have enough to keep me occupied for a long time.

And the leader of that snake gang in vault 101 if you decide to help him during the roach attack or w/e you want to call it XD
I bought the strategy guide so I have a sense of direction to go on as far as the side quests which I'm going to finish as many as I can before I even handle the main story line quests. I tried to be a mean ole bad person but I can't do it. Once I get alot of the story line down, the side quests, and I have all my good guy achievments I am going to most definetly Nuke Megaton. The ginormous map that they supply you with the strategy guide is incredible.
I've done all but four (I think) main side quests already. The ones where you actually receive gamerscore. There are many other side, side quests that you can pick up that will dish out other rewards such as extra perks, armor, weapons, caps, etc.

It saves me from using alot of my mines and frag grenades.
The Ripper is a POS. Get a sledgehammer or a Super Sledge, those are the best melee weapons you can find. The shishkabob is the best but you have to make that. Also, don't worry about using too many mines or grenades. Trust me on this one, you will end up accumulating a TON of them. If I were to unload all of my grenades and mines from my inventory I'd lose about 100lbs of weight.
I wouldn't recomend putting many skill points into melee weapons if that is what you're doing. When you get around level 13 or so you'll probably never use a melee weapon again except for fun.

Oh, I'm sure many more and much better melee weapons await as I progress. I just really enjoyed carving ants and scorpions with it.
What I do need to do is to start building my own stuff. I haven't messed with that yet .

lemme tell ya a secret. [I]ts better to keep megaton because SPOILERS
It serves as a better base of operation when your done traveling (storing nuka cola quantums and other foodstuffs/aids) in the fridge while putting items in the lockers, sleeping and robot with free water)
You can customize it to your liking with a theme, while also adding stuff like a workbench, radio, chem station, etc.
Its more accessible (no loading screens ) than going all the way to the top of tenpenny tower
You can kill Tenpenny with the dart gun (he dies of poison so no one tries to shoot you afterwards) and still use the extra apartment as your own along with the megaton apartment.
Also when your level is high enough, the mr sandman perk is highly effective for killing people without the populace being hostile towards you. You just slit their throats in thier sleep and ta-da, dead. Even a funny little chime lol.

I just finished pretty much all the quests from megaton and then I blew it up. Honestly the only reason I blew it up was because I really wanted to see the huge mushroom cloud. It was everything that I hoped for and more I pretty much killed everyone in megaton already anyways so the bomb pretty much finished off anyone I may have missed.

I think I'll try your theory. I'll just save my game, Nuke Megaton and load my old save. I'm just really horned up about setting off that nuke because people surround it and treat it as their God. I'm evil like that .

A friend tells me there's a choo choo train gun.
Someone please elaborate for me
(ps, this is on my christmas list)
It's basically a weapons that propels railroad spikes at a high rate of speed. It disables limbs very quickly and does a good amount of damage. And at the end of each shot, there is a "choo-choo" sound. It's great. My first kill with that gun was a Deathclaw and it was funny as hell. There's nothing like blowing off the head of a ferocious enemy with blood splattering everywhere and topping it off with an old school train sound.
