Microfusion cells are pretty much the only ammo that I would spend caps on whenever I'd talk to a vendor that had them for sale... only because I loved using that plasma rifle that I always seem to talk about.
Has anyone else run into problems with the way The Pitt runs on their 360? After just re-downloading this DLC earlier this evening, I've had the fucker lock up on me twice now already. One was time before I unlocked the "Into the Pitt" achievement by entering the city, and the other was while I was looking for the silver ingots during that very first mission after entering the city. Argh, pissed me off soooo bad!
I haven't had problems with The Pitt, but ever since I downloaded Broken Steel, my game has been freezing every now and then, and if I play music through my 360, it's almost guaranteed to freeze (whereas before, I had no such problems). Other than that, haven't been having too many problems with the game (other than the occasional pop-in, framerate drops, and things falling through the map).
I haven't had any problems with The Pitt either, although I do have a problem with Broken Steel, it's fucking hard! Right now I'm trying to destroy the Mobil base with an orbital strike, but I got like no stimpacks, and their are just too many fucking enclave.
How high is your Small Guns? If it's above 75, you should try sniping them. The scope will be steady enough that you can get a shot off with little difficulty. I suggest using the Reservist's Rifle (there's a church across the river from the satellites in the upper left of the map, the guy inside has it). It has relatively low recoil and reloads a little faster than the normal sniper and the Victory Rifle (which is the strongest of the three, but I don't remember where it is). But, you only get three rounds before you have to reload. If you got the Gauss Rifle and your EN Skill is at least 75, you could use that. Or, you could always use the Fat Man (or MIRV if you have it). I don't know exactly what you're dealing with, so my suggestions may or may not help you (though I hope they do).
I simply love using the Perforator machine gun, which I acquired in my travels through 'The Pitt'... it's almost like running around with a silenced 552 with a medium scope. The thing downright owns any stupid Raiders that try getting in my way... hehehehe.
Also, I think I need to get a new Fallout 3 disc... the damn thing locks up on me almost every 5-10 minutes. Grrrrrr...
You mean "Infiltrator", right? The silenced Assault Rifle with the stock removed and a scope, and it's all black. Big thing I dislike about that gun is it's low damage. It'd be so cool if you were able to change your fire-mode (semi-auto or full-auto), make those long-range shots easier (though I guess that's why they put in the Hunting Rifle and Sniper Rifle).

Right now every weapon I have is either broken or in terrible condition. My small guns isn't up very high I don't think, but I know that my energy weapons is almost maxed out, I'd say it's around 90-95.
I've been using the Tesla cannon that I picked up from the resupply crate the Brotherhood gave me. It works wonders when there's 3-4 enclave around. Right now I'm on the roof of the mobil base I think and there's like 5-6 enclave soldiers everywhere I turn. I also keep getting hit by rockets or something from the sky, I think it's enclave artillery.

No... I meant exactly what I said... the 'Perforator'. Basically, it looks like what you've described here, but in my game it's actually named Perforator. I'll try posting video footage from my game in the next day or two... I captured some while playing the game yesterday for a project here at school.
Hmmm, maybe it's a different gun. At max health, the Infiltrator does 36 damage. I got it after completing the main quest for The Pitt (I did the good thing and didn't take the "cure"). Or at least I'm pretty sure that's when I got it. I find it a little strange that they made two silenced Assault Rifles, though.
It's good to see that the PS3 is finally gonna get the DLC, though they should get them a little quicker than one every 6-8 weeks (I think that's what they said). Should get one every other week.
You should be able to repair things with Scrap Metal. It would always repair it by 3-5% (depending on your Repair Skill), but you could only get things up to 50% (so if your gun was at 75% health, you couldn't repair it with Scrap Metal). Also, being able to fill Empty Bottles with water (would become Dirty Water if from an irradiated source, Purified Water if from a clean source) would be cool. There are so many things that they could do to make this game so much more awesome.

Interesting concept... never thought of that before.
The laser rifle (called Metal Blaster) that I got in 'The Pitt' is a friggin' beast... does noticeably more damage than A-321's plasma rifle, which I was so stuck on in the days before I got through that DLC. Kinda makes me feel foolish for hyping that gun up so much in the past... but like the old saying goes, "youlive and you learn".
Just took a look at the Fallout wiki, and it turns out that the Perforator is the unique Infiltrator. You get it after handing in 90 Steel Ingots.
Okay... that explains it then... that's where I got the gun. Yeah, I wound up turning in all 100 steel ingots to that guy inside the mill. Even got me a nifty achievement for doing so.
